  1. Would you expect much better performance using a 9th or 10th, or is the 8th the "sweet spot"? I'm looking to build a new system, and automatically I would start to look at the latest gen i3.
  2. Thanks.. yeah, I think id just the wrong end of the stick at some point, but all sorted!
  3. Many thanks, I had assumed that but was informed that Unraid Nvidia Build was actually a complete alternative version of Unraid geared up towards Nvidia hardware. Everything seems to be working as expected after following the rest of the guide. Cheers for the clarification.
  4. Hi all, quick noob question... Ive seen reference to an Unraid Nvidia Build but not seen anywhere to download it, or does this just simply refer to the Stock Unraid but with the Nvidia image loaded? I assumed that on the driver plugin, the Bvidia build was the patch, and the Stock build to restore original settings, is this not the case? Ive installed the Nvidia Build onto my Stock Unraid... Cheers
  5. Hi all, Recently discovered unraid when looking at NAS devices and discovering how expensive they were in relaiton to the actual hardware, so decided to go down the DIY build. Unraid suited my needs in comparison to some of the other offerings. My system is purely for home, personal use.. to distribute media throughout my household (Plex pass holder), and somewhere to store my family photos/videos and important documents. Probably no transcoding, but I will be factoring this into my build which has yet to be decided, but if so, only for personal use when away from home. Not looking to go crazy with the spec, but want to build something that will be good for agood few years! One of my main requirements is to protect my personal photos/documents - im not fussed about the media too much. So I wanted to know if there is a way to duplicate folders across all the storage disks in the array (thinking 3x 4tb + 4tb parity), or having a way to backup/synch to anther drive (int/ext). Is this easily achievable with Unraid, can I choose/specify this sort of behaviour or is their an "app" for it? On my current windows PC, I just used GoodSync to setup multi sync options/destinations. Thinking of going with cores over speed (may have a couple of VMs or look into dockers as not something Ive used before), so maybe a Ryzen 2700, 16/32gb ram with a mitx/matx form facor in a small case. Although Ive not set a budget, I dont want to go too crazy, as storage will probably be the main cost but want to build something that will last a good few years! Would appreciate any comments around the duplication/backup side of things. Thanks
