  1. I have problems on GPU passthrough with Windows 10. After researching in the forum, many other people who have the same experience have downgrade to 6.9.2 and their GPU passthrough issues have been resolved.

I have made the following changes since upgraded to 6.10.3:

    1) Added 5-port JMB585 chip PCIe SATA Expansion card and reassign some of the hard drives to this card

    2) Upgraded OS license from Basic to Pro after upgrade to 6.10.3

What should I watch out for if I choose to downgrade using Tools > Update OS and select "Unraid OS (previous) 6.9.2"? Will I lose my drive configurations and OS license?

@SpaceInvaderOne hope all is well! Any chance you could update the video the simpler way you mentioned?

Or anyone know if this could be easier to set up with a windows VM?

I can have my vpn app running on a windows VM, I just don't know how to set everything up to actually turn it into a virtual router

The issue that I'm having is my VPN provider changed servers, and now I don't remember any more how I set this up and have to relearn everything as it has been months and I don't know how to copy a configuration file easily into the ubuntu VM from my computer. Any advice?

I'm trying to setup Windows virtual router too. Can you share your step-by-step guide?

    Many thanks!

That's not possible, but you can still install the controller and disks to confirm if they are detected or not, just won't be able to start the array with them connected until you upgrade your license.

If the server can detect both the controller and disks, does it mean that it will be compatible and workable in unRAID.

  4. I currently have a Basic license and I have 6 device installed. Recently, I bought a SATA expansion PCIe card and hope to add 5 more SATA HDDs but I'm not sure if this new PCIe card and the additional SATA HDDs are supported by unRAID 6.9.2 or 6.10.2 (planning to upgrade soon).

Is it possible to have trial upgrade (basic to pro) license so that I can test out the PCIe card and the additional HDDs?

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

    Hi folks,

Everything has been working flawlessly! Thank you @SpaceInvaderOne!

Do you folks know if it is possible to get this running on a raspberry pi instead? I already have an rpi running a home vpn, and pi-hole, it would be great if I could also offload this to the rpi, but I believe it is not ubuntu... Will the same commands and instructions still work on the rpi? Any suggestions?

Can you share your settings using Windows VM?

  6. Hi All,

I am new to unRAID and plan to setup an unRAID server.

The server shall serve the following functions:

    1) Desktop replacement (currently using Intel NUC7 with 16GB, 256GB SSD & 2TB HDD)
    2) VM host to run multiple Windows 10 (4-8GB RAM each)
    3) Docker (vpn, firewall, etc)
    4) One/two of the Windows 10 VM may need GPU and Sound passthrough for game and watching movies

I have been recommened to use either X570 AORUS MASTER or Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming with Ryzern 7 3700X processor with 32GB non-ECC RAM. Does both support HVM and IOMMU? Which will be better?

    What GPU do you recommend?

Do you need dual LAN if other PCs use VPN docker setup in UNRAID?

As for storage, I will be using 1x4TB & 4x3TB HDD.

What other component(s) do I need?

    Thank you!
