Upgraded from 6.8.3 to 6.9.0 stable CPU Temp reporting much higher then it actually is, do you account for the 20 degree Celsius offset AMD has in place?

did you also manage to get it to recognise the PWM fans in your ryzen system??

  2. Hi All,

So I know this has been covered at nauseum, but for the life of me I cant seem to crack this.

My current top DL speed across multiple torrents never really crack 5MBs and I've been hearing that with PIA (Which is what I have) other people can get 50MBs which would be sweet ! (I'm also aware I wouldn't get to 50MBs as my top bandwidth is around 47ish MBs)

    My details are as follows:-

Upload Speed test result - 43097kb

Download Speed test result - 14784kb

    PIA Endpoint - Czech Republic.

Would anyone be able to share what, in their opinion would be the best settings to maximise DL speed in Deluge-VPN.

I also haven't opened any ports on my router (Not sure if this would help or not)

If your feeling extra specially generous you can use the above speeds as a base line ?

@binhex - All of your dockers are ace !!!! maybe you could let me know what your recommended settings would be ?

    Cheers

    The 42% used isn't of 31.4Gb - which I'm guessing is what you're calculating to get to 13GB used (42% of 31.4 = 13)

The 31.4 is your usable RAM in your server (32GB).

By default, the docker img size is 20GB (you can check this in Settings -> Docker) and see what it's set to. If you're image is 42% full, then I'd say it's probably the default (20GB) at least based on the container sizes you pasted.

    Cheers,

Thanks @Stokkes - Any idea what a healthy Docker image size setting would be ?

    I think I'm set at 30GBish.

To answer my own question, looks like plex now requires nvidia drivers 450.66 and up for NVENC to work. Looks like i'll have to wait for 6.9.0 to go stable before updating my drivers.

    Hi all,

this is a real problem in plex for using an NVIDIA card for encoding (decoding work fine) is there anyway to update the drivers to 450.66 ? ???

    im Currently on 440.59

    thanks all!

  5. Hi,

I know, I know ! this is a question that gets asked a lot and is normally down to misconfigured docker settings.

This is what my current allocation is (looks like 13GB is used):-

However when i look at the containers i have and how much space they are taking up the numbers dont add up !

  6. oh and the inspiration for my build came from this video:-

Except i didn't go quite so high end  on the specs as 1) I couldn't afford it 2) it should run a bit less hot with some of my specs (Hopefully)

Also i didn't want to sacrifice a drive bay as shown in the video, so with a very small 1650 you keep all your drive bays usable.

  7. Ok, so a little update from a first time unraider.

got two (14tb) drives that I’m preclearing at the mo and will get into the server when they are ready. They are wd element drives. Which are currently running very hot during preclear (around 50c). Had to get a fan on them to bring them back down to a more acceptable 34c.

I also forgot to mention I 3D printed two skirts to sort out the airflow issue as seen below. A word of warning these skirts need to be filled / cut down a bit to work with Noctua fans as they are slightly too high for the Ds380 drive cage. But otherwise good to go.

I don’t have a 3D printer myself so had to use an online service to print them (£25) for 3 but you only need 2. You can find the design files on google.

my only other gripe so far is that with Unraid version 6.8.3 you can’t see the cpu or fan temps on ryzen CPU or boards. Apparently this is fixed in version 6.9 but I’m going to wait for a stable release before upgrading (I’m a nervous neW unraider).

ill let you know the temps of my new drives once they are through preclear (about a week) and on the server

While I've never tried this I have had my frustrations with the case. (To the point I gave up and switched to a 381 which has its own frustrations.)  Can I ask what build you're planning that you can fit a Ryzen itx board and 8 hard drives? I always came up with the answer of "there isn't enough slots!"

Got it to work in the end. Got a Palit 1650 which fits in the case without the need to loose a drive bay.

So with this setup I’ve got 8 hot swappable bays plus 1 m.2 SSD and a second 2.5 SSD.

    based on a ryzen 3600.

took me ages to build :)

  9. Hi,

Just curious has anyone managed to get a 1650 Super graphics card inside the DS380 without having to sacrifice a drive bay ??

I'm doing a new Ryzen build with this case and am looking at getting a MSI GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER AERO ITX OC 4GB Graphics Card for Transcoding, but want to triple check it will fit without loosing a bay ?

    Cheers
