  1. Hey all, This might be the wrong forums to post this issue, so I do apologize if this is the wrong spot. I have been attempting to setup a LANCache on my network to eleviate any WAN bandwidth issues and I'm almost certain that there is a network communication issue to some degree, but again, I'm not sure where else I can/should post at this point in time. Here is the setup that I have: Intel 10300F 16GB RAM 2TB Samsung 2.5" SSD HOST IP: 192.168.30.12 LANCache IP: 192.168.30.250 LANCache-DNS IP: 192.168.30.100 My PC: 192.168.40.50 Share: LANCache (SSD Cache only) /mnt/cache/LANCAche - also have tried /mnt/user/LANCache Docker image is located: /mnt/cachetwo/system/docker/docker-xfs.img Issue: When using either the LANCache-prefill container, or download games from Steam and having LANCache cache them, I am receiving Timeout errors from either the LANCache prefill container, or from my PC per the logs of LANCache. I'm happy to provide any additional info and context if needed. I do have another unRAID server that has a similar config, however, that server is not able to replicate this issue. Thank you,
  2. Heres what I can find in the error.log file of LANCache: 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1907#1907: *35695 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/0b5c39d5654e81ba395c425a0ce5fbb655185fbc HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/0b5c39d5654e81ba395c425a0ce5fbb655185fbc", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1819#1819: *35719 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/0b694079f039349dc2dc16e67d81b1fe4eb04ea5 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/0b694079f039349dc2dc16e67d81b1fe4eb04ea5", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1941#1941: *35751 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/0b726a8331b1909b07c4f5c9c4ce0555ff24ce07 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/0b726a8331b1909b07c4f5c9c4ce0555ff24ce07", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1907#1907: *35778 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/d7ac0117855211b21f2c108d499a17a3ac53a44a HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/d7ac0117855211b21f2c108d499a17a3ac53a44a", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1988#1988: *35667 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/1b3f6cf35dc745ea8748dae910f704b124e69f73 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/1b3f6cf35dc745ea8748dae910f704b124e69f73", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1859#1859: *35663 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/de934db11c0422cf87528573ec3bc60626f58290 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/de934db11c0422cf87528573ec3bc60626f58290", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" 2023/10/03 15:54:55 [error] 1818#1818: *35703 upstream prematurely closed connection while reading upstream, client: 192.168.30.222, server: , request: "GET /depot/48194/chunk/f484265f86e53ed660926f872ad3f8fae724b332 HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://127.0.0.1:3128/depot/48194/chunk/f484265f86e53ed660926f872ad3f8fae724b332", host: "cache3-sea1.steamcontent.com" So possibly some other kind of hardware conflict is what you might be hinting at? I've only been using the prefill option thus far. I didn't want to put excessive wear and tear on my daily use driver. But... what if it was a SSD RAID 1 cache?
  3. Thank you for all of the replies. Sorry mine is coming in as 1 large reply: "I don‘t understand downloading to you PC or through Prefill through thr LanCache? Check the logs, you most likely have some corrupt data in it." I've checked unRAID, LANCache, LANCache-DNS, and LANCache-Prefill logs, nothing appears to be indicating anything about corrupted data. "Sounds like crc errors and defective chunks." I agree to a certain point. If I was getting some kind of CRC errors, I would suspect unRAID to detect them and warn me about it. "What do the logs say? Did you also rebuild the entire lancache folder?" Logs are plain, nothing useful in them. Yes, I have rebuilt the LANCache folder multiple times. As well as the prefill container. Same issue. I've also ran LANCache prefill from my windows PCs, had it detect LANCAche on the network, and began prefilling. However, the same issue of a hung download occurs. "I would strongl yrecommend that you post on the support thread from lancache aince this seems not like a lancache-prefill issue." I will be doing that as soon as I can. I'm working through the motions of replies I have from other places I posted to this about. "Also check your access.log from the lancache container but please note that I‘m not the maintainer from lancache itself, I only created a container for lancache-prefill." I will check that for any additional anomalies. As another general update. I do have another unRAID system that has a 500GB RAID 1 cache drive system setup. I am currently testing to see if I can replicate the problem on the other system.
  4. @ich777 Please help. I've been struggling for 3-4 days now with multiple different issues with LANCache and LANCache-Prefill. Issues I've come across (I believe in order of operations) First to explain the unRAID setup it is as follows: i3 10300f 16GB of RAM (initially a 4TB RAID 0 Inland SSD array) Now: single 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD 1) When downloading over (what is currently estimated) to be 20GB worth of data, my downloads to the cache will become unresponsive. I will hang at 99% with no extra data being written to my SSD. 2) When attempting to restart the prefill container, the cached data is seen and is read, however, when the downloads begin again, if X GB worth of data is downloaded, I will experieince the same issue again of the download hanging at 99%. 3) If smaller games are downloaded (3GB or under) these appear to download without any issue. 4) I've attempted to rebuild both the container image and the appdata folder data multiple times, each time results in the same issue of a hung download at 99%. This happened after I swapped from RAID 0 to a single SSD as well. 5) Currently, today, after attempting a new setup on another server I have, I am getting this error: Warning! lancache.steamcontent.com is resolving to a public IP address (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX). Prefill will download directly from the internet, and will not be cached by Lancache. 6) After this began to present itself, I went back to my primary server I was setting LANCache up on, and it now is beginning to do the exact same error as above in 5). I'm at a whits end and could really use some help. I can post whatever logs you'd like. Discuss system setup. Whatever you need, I am begging for help.
  5. Validation has been disabled. I appear to have made progress, but I'm still having issues with joining/starting. I can see the server when looking for the game, but when trying to join the game I get a generic loading screen and eventually I will timeout joining. Do I need to config anything in regards of files in the appdata folder?
  6. Afternoon, Decided to start up my L4D2 dedicated server again. Got the container running, but after installation of the game files, I'm being prompted with this string of messages/error: Setting breakpad minidump AppID = 222860 Using breakpad crash handler Forcing breakpad minidump interfaces to load Looking up breakpad interfaces from steamclient Calling BreakpadMiniDumpSystemInit PreMinidumpCallback: updating dump comment Uploading dump (in-process) [proxy ''] /tmp/dumps/crash_20230514132202_1.dmp success = no error: libcurl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Segmentation fault Add "-debug" to the /serverdata/serverfiles/srcds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem Sun 14 May 2023 01:22:02 PM CDT: Server restart in 10 seconds Any thoughts or reasons to this error?
  7. @ich777 I think i have hit some kind of storage limit in the LANCache container? Perhaps a setting I'm missing? I'm cached about 1.08TB worth of data and since that point, the dir has not increased in storage capacity. Is there a setting that I need to apply to increase the LANCache size amount? Thank you, EDIT: I think i figured it out. I had to modify the LANCache container itself to include an additional variable to increase the cache size If anyone else comes across this (and my google - fu is terrible) with the LANCache container from lancachenet/monolithic you can modify the container to add a variable. Add in: CACHE_DISK_SIZE=(Amount desired) e.g. CACHE_DISK_SIZE=20000000m
  8. You may disregard. I had the wrong DNS in place for the containers to communicate correctly.
  9. If I have cached all my games, but a game i no longer play comes out with an update, how do I update that game? Do I follow your notes in the template? Or is there a way I can automate game updates?
  10. Ah I mean that does make sense. I was too use to playing in the CLi and saw the gui it had to offer. But, checking the logs should suffice for what I am looking for. Side bar question. The notes you left in the tutorial of the container were wonderful. Is there any chance you could expand on them? For example, add in the update command?
  11. Evening, I just recently started using the LANCahe Pre-Fill container and it's been working great (as far as I can tell). I would like some guidance on how I can check the status of current, on going, downloads. I let some downloads go overnight and this morning when I went to check, I lost the console window I had been using to monitor the status. Is there a command I can run to check the status of the current downloads? Thanks,
  12. Updated to 6.11.5 and it appears to have resolved the issue. Thank you for your help.
  13. I was just informed this on the unRAID discord actually. I'm currently waiting for a disk clear to finish and then I plan to reboot.
