  1. Hello All, I've been having an issue for several months now and I can't quite figure out what the problem is. I have a Windows 10 VM on my Unraid Server. For about a year it worked completely fine but now a pretty big issue comes about from it's use. When ever I remote connect into it (Either from Splashtop / Parsec / Moonlight) and use it, my entire Wi-Fi goes down. The 5Ghz network disappears completely while the 2.4Ghz still appears on devices, but is barely functional. The Internet itself remains, as all Ethernet connections (including the Server) do not loose connection to the Internet, just the Wi-Fi specifically. Remote connecting into the VM itself doesn't cause the Wi-Fi to go down, only when it actually does something like playing a game does it cause this, and the Wi-Fi does not go back up until the game is closed (So perhaps linked to CPU / GPU utilisation?). The VM doesn't crash or anything, when I connect into it from an Ethernet connected device everything is fine, just my Wi-Fi that seems to be affected. Perhaps somewhat irrelevant but I think there used to be a similar issue initially (can't remember if it crashed the whole network or just the Wi-Fi) when I first set up the VM, but manually assigning a local IP on my router settings DHCP seemed to stop it. I don't think playing a game caused it though at this point, it was just being problematic in general, so I don't think this is the same issue. I've even swapped out my router (with the same ASUS model) thinking that it might be a hardware failure issue with the router, but still the same problem. I'm really at a loss as to what could be causing this and how to fix it, if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it. If there's any further information that might be relevant I'd be happy to provide. Thank You For Your Time
  2. Hello, Previously, I had an RTX 2080Ti in my Server, passed through to a Windows 10 VM to which It was working fine. Today I changed it over for an RTX 3080. I changed the Syslinux Configuration to match, as well as the XML for the VM. The VM starts fine (No Errors) it appears on my Windows Network ever so briefly before disappearing. If I configure the VM through the basic view (Not XML, even though looking at the XML I can see that it's wrong) I can start the VM fine still, but I also get to remote desktop to it briefly, this is before moments later it will just crash (Freezes). In both circumstances the VM cannot be shut down through Unraid, it has to be force shut down. I don't know where I could be going wrong? Is there something wrong in my XML, or is there another step that's Involved when switching GPU's? Thanks Edit: Edit: Regardless of if done through basic view or XML view, the system doesn’t appear in my Windows network or Remote Desktop (Splashtop) and gives no opportunity to connect. It does however show as connected on my Router Page. Edit2: Went to BIOS Boot Manager and booted Windows and connected over HDMI, everything in Windows seems fine, 3080 Is Recognised there and doesn't crash or anything. There is certainly something wrong with how I've done the VM. Win10VMXML.xml
  3. I tried 4 different videos. 3 H264 & 1 H265. All MKV. Playback error on all when Hardware Encoding turned on and requires Transcoding.
  4. I changed them, but the Issue still seems prevalent. I'm not sure entirely, I think the error message on Jellyfin clients are a little different now. But it's still a playback error. When I run the same film but with DirectPlay or Transcoding (with Hardware Acceleration Off) It plays fine at the expense of the CPU. But if Hardware Acceleration is on and requires transcoding, no luck. Thank You for sharing. I changed mine to match yours, saved it. Restarted the Server, but the Issue still persists unfortunately. Jellyfin Log still shows the following at the end: "Failed to initialise VAAPI connection: -1 (unknown libva error). Device creation failed: -5. Failed to set value '/dev/dri/renderD128' for option 'vaapi_device': Input/output error Error parsing global options: Input/output error" In my first original post, the error was like this, slightly different if that means anything to anyone: "Failed to initialise VAAPI connection: -1 (unknown libva error). Device creation failed: -5. Failed to set value 'qsv=hw' for option 'init_hw_device': Input/output error Error parsing global options: Input/output error"
  5. I'm sorry but I am missing something, I can't seem to understand what it is you refer to? /dev/dri is written in a few places. How / Where do I change permissions on /dev/dri? I also heard that Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake no longer supports VAAPI, not sure if that's true or not.
  6. I've looked through this forum and followed the Instructions, but I am having no luck with getting hardware acceleration to work for my Intel iGPU. The go file has been edited, saved & UNRAID restarted. The parameters in advanced view Extra Parameters has been added. Hardware acceleration has been set to VAAPI as people have more luck with that. DirectPlay is fine, but whenever there are subtitles and the video has to be transcoded, I get a black screen on Safari & a playback error on Windows Chrome. I later plugged in a dummy HDMI plug into my Server motherboard to see if that would help but that doesn’t either. Using i5-10400 CPU Any Help Appeciated, Thanks! Edit: The log says this "Failed to initialise VAAPI connection: -1 (unknown libva error). Device creation failed: -5. Failed to set value 'qsv=hw' for option 'init_hw_device': Input/output error Error parsing global options: Input/output error"
  7. SOLVED. I've spent hours on this, I had a new ASUS TUF B460m Motherboard and I was using stable versions of UnRaid. As soon as a set the version to 'Next' to get Beta 6.9.0 in the USB FLASH CREATIOR it worked fine. If only I remembered the posts I saw on this when checking on UnRaid some months ago that support for newer hardware was being included in 6.9.0. I hope this is useful for anyone else having similar problems as it's easy to just flow with a 'Stable' release.
  8. Hello, I am putting together my first UnRaid Server, but I am running into problems and I don't quite know what is wrong. Originally, I was getting the issue on boot 'ipv4 not set' & 'ipv6 not set'. I changed the Network Config file to 'BONDING="no"' and now I get a ipv4 address but it still says no ipv6 (not sure how relevant any of this is). I tried a lower version of UnRaid and the problem is the same. I try and boot into the GUI version of UnRaid but all I get is a black screen with a blinking underscore on the top left of it ( I don't actually want to use the Gui version, I just heard it can be useful when having network problems, but it dosen't work either). In my Web Browser on another computer, I have tried both http://tower as well as the ipv4 address it gave me, no luck on either. I have attached my diagnostic file to this post. Hopefully someone can help. Many Thanks tower-diagnostics-20200829-1806.zip
