The problem is that the machine does not 'crash'. It just freezes and becomes unresponsive. Sometimes I need to restart the machine to be able to do anything on it again.

Hi all,
I added my diagnostics, and I hope you want to help me find out why my machine freezes all the time.
Now again, the GUI is unresponsive, and I cannot stop my dockers, my USB drive does not show. The machine does look like it cannot do more than one thing at a time, while it is a dual CPU, 192GB mem Dell R720 beast.
Thanks for the help.

UnRAID 6.12.10
Hi all,I read so many different stories, I am confused.
I have Plex, Emby and Tdarr, on my /tmp folder with transcoding. This lately gave my server the issue that the webGUI was not working correctly. Settings where not saved, GUI stayed white, needed reboots, and stuff like that.
The next settings was Plex, Emby and Tdarr, working in /dev/shm/ which also seems NOT the be the best solution, since all the kernel and modules are running there.
Since a short while I am using a GPU for hardware transcoding. What do you guys suggest what to do with the transcoding settings? Still use something like tmp or dev/shm, or remove this setting completely from Plex, Emby and Tdarr?
Long story short: best practices for RAM settings for Plex, Emby and Tdarr.
Thanks.

I have Spotweb working with MariaDB. What I do not understand, no matter the retention settings, it will not download older spots. The oldest one, after a fresh run, is 12 hours old. My retention is on 0. Eweka has 5746+ days retention, but Spotweb just does not download more.
Any suggestions?

I'm currently converting a folder to a dataset. It's a 8TB drive, folder has 6,5TB of data in it. While converting, my disk is full, what happens now? I cannot convert this folder because clearly you need double the space to convert.
Please help.

Is Krusader able to resume a partially moved file?
I was moving files, but I cancelled. When I was resuming moving those files, I selected 'write into' (the folder where the files where in that I was mvong).
Does Krusader continue with the partially moved file, or does it overwrite it?

The Crashplan Enterprise Docker I found today on UnRAID, which was not there yesterday yet, works flawlessly! Thanks so much!
-
I also cannot log in with the Crashplan Docker. I made an VM Ubuntu 22.04 machine on UnRAID, downloaded and run Crashplan there, and that works. I also asked the support team from CP, what can cause the login issue. Did not get a reply yet.
Can the issue be that the Docker version is voor Small Business, while I have a Pro account? When downloading a installer from their website, it also ask for the version you want to run.

That made total sense! Thanks for this 'trigger'! It indeed works, but I just did not see it haha.
What I did, I mapped to the shares (and not to /mnt/user anymore and moving works now like intended!
Thanks again!

Hi all,
I am running UnRAID 6.12.4 with binhex-krusader.
My array layout:
Array with 3x 8TB and 2x 10TB parity
Cache pool with 2x NVME 500G with my Docker and VM data
1 SSD 1TB for downloads and processing those downloads. The resulting data should move to the Array.
My shares:
Data: Cache to Array
Media: Array
Downloads: Download SSD only
Backups: Array
The problem: when I have downloaded something and I want to move the unpacked files to my Media share (Array only) and I do this via Krusader, the data stays on the Downloads drive, just in a folder called like the folder where I want to actually have it on the Array.
When I move via Windows, the files are indeed dissapearing from the Downloads drive to the Array as intended.
I do move the files in Krusader within the Shares /mnt/user/Downloads to /mnt/user/Media so I would expect the files to dissapear from the Downloads drive to the Media drive however, this is not the case when using Krusader.
What can I do to make sure my files are moved correctly? The Downloads drive is an unprotected drive so NO files should stay there after I moved them to the array. It's just for downloading and processing those files.
Screenshots 'Downloads' is the Download drive as it should be (only with the Download folder).
'Moving' is where you can see that I am moving withing the Shares, not on disk level.
'Moved' is where you see the folder Media/Muziek on my Downloads drive, where it should NOT be, and also the Mover does NOT move it to the Array.
Does someone know how to make Krusader work correctly?
Thanks.

I used setfacl -Rb /mnt/user to have all ACL removed. I did use New Permissions in Unraid Tool. Now my machine likes to be behaving normally again.

It looks like my issue has been solved.
I did a lot of work today and did not get any issues.

This is the same with my dockers. They are indeed 99 and 100.
Could restoring a backup of my Plex Media server database and files (not the real media but the Metadata and stuff) be an issue since I needed to change the permissions on that too (the app appdata)
-
It indeed look like it is a Docker doing this. I am moving and copying files while both Dockers are off (Plex and Sabnzb) and now there seems no issue (yet)

I think also having changed my cache drives from SATA SSD to NVME SSD, got me this strange behavior.
When browsing folders, or copying files on my Unraid machine, folder get inaccessible because of changed permissions.
I have to go to the CLI to chmod 777 that folder again to make it accessible again. Tried the ACL trick but still the folders change permissions.
-
I still have issues of changing permissions, even after the ACL.
Anyone any idea what could cause this issue? Or should I just reinstall my server?
-
I even tried this:
This to remove ACL. That does not have any effect.
Someone an idea of what could cause my strange issues?
-
Could you please tell me what command you typed in the CLI, to remove the ACL?
For example, folder /mnt/user/NAS/Media
What command do I have to type?
Thanks.

I also have this EXACT same issue.
I am browsing through folder on my Unraid NAS and at the next moment I cannot access that very same folder anymore. This while just browsing.
Folders and files change to permissions 644 and I have to go to the command line of Unraid to put the folder back to 777 permissions.
Machine freezes all the time, GUI not responsive, best to reboot

At this moment the machine is running perfectly fine, since the afternoon that I posted this ticket. I will post my syslog if the machine is misbehaving again.
Thanks.
