  1. Just ran benchmark on my controller, using DiskSpeed. I have 15 disk connected to a SAS2008 HBA card and a SAS expander card. When the benchmark runs all disks at the same time I'm getting an avg speed of 23MB/sec. Currently rebuilding a drive and it's running at 28.1MB/Sec. I paused the rebuild and then ran the Benchmark on DiskSpeed. All drives are mechanical HD's, I have the Cache connected to MB directly. This is the message it gives me, "Slight variations between runs and minor improvements in all drives being read at once vs a single drive is normal. The average difference between the single drive and all drive read speeds is 85.4% The maximum data output of all the drives exceeds the capacity of the drive controller." Is this Normal to see the message? Or have I outgrown my SAS2008 HBA card, I believe it's an IBM 1015 flashed and running in IT mode. The drive 8TB currently rebuilding at 28 MB/s. Says it will take 2 days 19 hours to finish and it's already been running for 18 hours almost 19 hours.
  2. I want to upgrade my current setup. Need some advice on picking some new hardware. Current setup CPU: AMD FX - 8350 MOBO: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Memory: 32GB ddr3 Case: Norco 4224 (24 Bay case) Unfortunately this case requires one SAS cable per row. Currently have 4 rows connected to the SAS cards row 5 is connected to sata breakout cable to the MB and row 6 is not connected. GPU: Nvidia P2000 Power Supply: Corsair 750 Watt 80 Bronze Drives: 16 Drives Total, currently 2 SSD (500GB each) cache drives and 2 14tb (each) Parity drives and 12 spinning drives different sizes. SAS cards: 2 IBM M1015 running in IT Mode Not installed IBM 46M0997 SAS Expander Looking for some recommendations on the best way to upgrade this thing. I want some more CPU power. Also want to get some 10gb networking between my workstation and the this server. Thanks in advanced.
  3. I tried to install Big Sur as an update. Once it says it completes it just boots back in Catalina. Never can get it to install. I wonder if its because of my hardware. Using an AMD bulldozer chip (very old) I need to upgrade.
  4. Does the new version of Macinthebox work with updates? Every time I would update it will never boot again.
  5. Anybody have a solution to get Big Sur to install?
  6. I can't get BigSur to work method 1 downloads a file called BigSur but when I run the VM it's Catalina. Method 2 doesn't do anything when I select BigSur.
  7. If you need help let me know? I did this a couple of times trying to get Big Sur to work.
  8. You need to delete the ovmf file. That will fix the issue I had that issue as well. If you reinstall everything it should work with Catalina. Uninstall Macinabox, then delete the VM delete the iso files and domain files, then delete ovmf file and the template. I also deleted Macinabox under appdata. Then start the installation again. I can't get Big Sur to download method 1 and 2 don't work for Big Sur. Method 1 downloads a file called Big Sur but when you run the VM it's Catalina and Method 2 doesn't work.
  9. I keep getting Catalina when I select Big Sur. Anybody have a solution for this. I cleaned up all the Macinabox files and removed everything it says Big Sur in the file directory. Trying method 2 now.
