  1. Nah i am serious, if ever i am going to hand it unsealed and just to be sure the recipient can test if its a real deal HDD.
  2. Hi fellow unraiders, I’m hoping someone can help me out here. A while ago, a friend gifted me a Seagate HDD, but I’ve run into an issue with the RMA process. Seagate has agreed to honor the RMA, but only if the drive is shipped from a US address. The problem is, I’m based in Metro Manila, Philippines, and none of my friends are traveling to the US anytime soon. To make things even more complicated, shipping the drive from the Philippines to the US is tough because of corrupt customs practices here, and they require a lot of paperwork, which is nearly impossible to get. So, I’m reaching out to see if anyone here in the US is planning a trip to the Philippines soon and would be willing to help me with this? The plan would be for you to bring the drive back to the US, and Seagate will cover the shipping costs for the RMA. I’d be more than happy to make any arrangements to cover any fees and make it as easy as possible. Thanks so much in advance! I really appreciate any help you can offer! Best, Adam

  11. @JorgeB asside from changing the ddrescue log file location is there anything else i should do?, do i need to format the destination drive or can i just start over just change the log file directory?
  12. @JorgeB I meant i think while running ddrescue the disk identifier changed and it my have copied from another drive thus tainting the data and now that i reboot and it returned it may resume but the data cloned may be from another drive when the id changed and it resumed now to the correct drive thus the rescue data may not be reliable anymore(sorry if i cant explain it clearly)
  13. Hi again @JorgeB i did and it resume to this is this correct? or should i start over? is this is normal?
  14. Got it i read online that i should use -D if i encounter this error should i or should i proceed with your recommended command? Thanks again for the fast reply @JorgeB

  17. Hi @JorgeB sorry for the late reply i just placed the replacement drive and just started the ddrescue using the command ddrescue -f /dev/sdd /dev/sds /boot/ddrescue.log im now halfway and i just remembered the destination drive is a brand new disk and remains unformatted, will ddrescue take care of it? or should i restart?, My existing file system is ZFS will i be able to just import it after? or do i need to format it first before running ddrescue? Thanks!
  18. Hi my replacement drive just arrived, again i am sorry i am not that techie and i am already afraid i might damage some important data what is the best command i can run using this ddrescue? any help will be appreciated Thanks!
  19. Hi, I have a ZFS stripe setup. I know, right—stupid! I completely forgot that I striped it, and earlier I encountered an issue. Unfortunately, I admit I made a mistake. It contains the only copy of some important memories from my child , birth, birthdays, and significant life milestones. I know, again, I’m stupid. I forgot I striped it because I’ve been busy with life. As a father and a fellow data enthusiast, I’m pleading for any hope or guidance on how to remedy this situation. I feel like I’ve lost a part of myself and my son. Any assistance would be deeply appreciated. If repair is possible, I am more than willing to pay. I’m desperate—VERY desperate. Even if there’s a risk, I would cherish any data I can recover. I hope you can help, as I’m feeling lost, broken, and truly down right now. Tried ChatGPT and tried all his version of -F(Force Command) nothing seems to work :(

Hi! regarding the corsair commander pro, planning to get one just wondering, if ever i dont want a VM to control it can the "dynamix auto fan" detect it and control its pwm? planning to use it on noctua 3000 rpm fans so pwm control is a must i heard it sounds like a jet engine on 100%. Thanks! Regards, Adam
