Iam at the same boat, building my first nas, now iam down to which rams uses, both my MB and CPU are compatible, Asrock x570m pro4 (8 sata, 2x m.2 and intel LAN, not RTL) looks perfect for a nas) and a Ryzen 5 Pro 3350g. thing is, i dont know whick ECC ram to buy, because the QVL list only has like 3 ECC rams, and then are speeds, big part of ryzen's powers comes from ram speeds, and fast ecc rams are expensive in europe, 200€ a stick of 8gb.
