Unable to assign new array drive, system keeps clearing the assignment
Thank you for responding @itimpi, good point. I think my issue is now resolved. Turns out my Flash drive was read-only. I wasn't able to run error check via Windows (I kept getting the device is write protected), so I followed the instructions for replacing my Flash drive (restoring from a backup & transferring my license). I was then able to select the replacement drive, start the array, and am now waiting for the rebuild to complete. 🤞

Unable to assign new array drive, system keeps clearing the assignment
The system notified me last week there was a smart error on Disk 4 of my array. It automatically disabled the drive. I shutdown my system, installed a new drive (of the same size), and precleared the new drive without issue. The new drive shows up as an option for Disk 4 but after selecting it, the screen flashes and the assignment is cleared. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Passthrough USB Blu Ray Burner in Windows 10 VM
@SimonF You were correct. I was able to verify with your steps above that it is the ASMedia device. As a result, I'm also able to add it via USB Devices. Thanks again to you both.

Passthrough USB Blu Ray Burner in Windows 10 VM
Success! @ghost82 Setting the controller number to match the index worked. I obviously overlooked that when looking at other examples. Thank you very much. @SimonF For (my) learning sake, I had originally tried "lsusb" but did not see it listed. Passthrough USB Blu Ray Burner in Windows 10 VM
I am still new to Unraid. I have a USB ASUS BW-12D1S-U Blu-Ray burner I would like to passthrough to Windows 10 VMs. It does not show up among USB Devices in the VM "Form View" (which isn't surprising after having read a couple forums based on similar questions). When checking "System Devices", it shows up in "SCSI Devices". I confirmed its name, bus, target, & unit via the lsscsi command in terminal. Based on the same forums, I edited the XML by adding a new entry within the <devices> </devices> block. The VM boots fine and a new SCSI Controller was detected within Windows. Attempting to update its drivers via the virtio ISO added a "Red Hat VirtIO SCSI pass-through controller" but that was it. Currently I have 3 SCSI Controllers listed in "Other devices" but have not been able to find any drivers. I'm running Unraid v6.9.2. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

[SOLVED] Unable to boot unraid with new usb
Figured it out. Turns out the flash drive was in the wrong format (exFat). Reformatted it as Fat32 and works like a charm. Thank you anyway.

[SOLVED] Unable to boot unraid with new usb
About 3 weeks ago I built a new home server, ASUS AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus motherboard, and started a trial of Unraid. Today the flash drive I was using while initially testing appears to have died. I already purchased a new flash drive to use after I purchased a license. I have a backup of my config I used with the Unraid USB creator and am having trouble booting since the prior flash drive died. I have 2 USB boot options in the BIOS: USB (15.3GB) UEFI: USB, Partition 1 (15.3GB) Booting to "USB (15.3GB)" results in: "ExF Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart. " Booting to "UEFI: USB, Partition 1 (15.3GB)" results in a blank screen (no cursor). After the BIOS splash screen, Unraid never actually loads. The web GUI is not accessible and I cannot ping the server. To test: I tried creating the bootable USB with "Allow UEFI" enabled and disabled (though I'm pretty sure it was enabled in my original setup) using my backup. I tried a different flash drive. Tried booting flash drives from different USB ports. I tried a "clean" install, not using a backup, and am having the same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
