Looking to buy an Nvidia MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU to be used on some Windows VMs. I know that Nvidia have restricted virtualization passthrough on consumer grade cards like the RTX 3080 ti. It is my understanding that this restrictions has been lifted, but I still see people editing Nvidia drivers. So I am a bit confused; can the MSI RTX 3080 ti be passed to a windows VM through unraid or not? Also, did anyone have problems using their card for machine learning applications? (tensorflow / StyleGAN) ?

Only reset bug fix I find is to deploy a custom kernel. Is that the recommended solution?

I have two Radeon RX480s installed which I use to passthrough to my VM. But sometimes, when I shut down the VM after making heavy use the video cards, the fans remain on as if it's stuck in full power mode. Also, if I force shut down the VM, sometimes the video card becomes unusable until I restart the unraid server. Is there a way for me to probe the video card from the GUI/terminal or using an app to either reset the video card, control the fans or let unraid take back control of the video card after the VM is shut down?
