    XBMC Standalone Library Updater for UnRAID

    Was wondering and I know I read it somewhere in this thread about the auto update addon. I copied auto updater addon from my main install of XBMC into the \\TOWER\cache\appdata\xbmc\portable_data\userdata\addon_data and also into \\TOWER\cache\appdata\xbmc\portable_data\addons folder and I see in the log file that it does set up the timer and such but doesn't seem to work. Question is will it work or do I really need SB to trigger it? Reason I don't want SB to trigger is some nites I may add over 10 show episodes and thought if the auto update works I could just trigger every 12 hours instead.

     

    I have not personally used it so I can't really offer much help. But others have reported it working. Many of the basic add-ons like that should, in theory, work. It's just that without a GUI setting them up is more involved. It looks like you have the right directory. I would suggest using another XBMC with a GUI to set it all up, make sure it is working, and then copy it over.

     

    As for the sickbeard notification, I don't think 10 shows is all that much. When sickbeard sends an update notification, if I recall, it doesn't update the whole library, just that show which only takes a few seconds. I don't think there is much risk of downloading too many shows anyway using a typical usenet downloader such as sabNZBD since it downloads one at a time. XBMC should have long already completed an update before the next file even finishes getting downloaded, much less, extracted, sent to sickbeard for organization, and another update notification sent.

     

    I installed a complete new install and after 2 reboots and a number of restarts, everything seems to be working. WebGUI shows up and the auto updater addon seems to be running fine. I will report back after about a week and let you know if it is running ok or I found any bugs.

    BitTorrent Sync (BTSync) Plugin

    I have the plugin installed and running on unRAID Server Pro version: 5.0.5. The plugin states running on port 50001, I click that and am taken to the webgui, on here I can not generate a secret or add a folder or clicking Preferences button does nothing also.

     

    I have btsync installed at /mnt/cache/appdata/btsynch/ and the plugin plg is located in /boot/config/plugins with the newest btsync_i386.tar.gz located in the /boot/config/plugins/btsync folder.

     

    Does anyone have an idea what I may have done wrong?

    I have deleted all browser cookies.

     

    I figured it out and now have it all working by using the ip address instead of my unraid server name. :)

    Newznab Plug-in

    I have Newznab installed on my cache drive into a folder I use for all my apps called "appdata" under the folder "server" for newznab and putty into my server.

    I then use cd /mnt/cache/appdata/server/misc/update_scripts/nix_scripts

    I then use screen and the newznab_screen.sh start

    I undock the screen with ctrl +a,d and close putty.

    newznab will now update every 10 minutes

    If I restart my unraid server i will need to do this again since newznab will not start automatically after a restart of unraid.

    Yes I have the + . Went on newznab chat and asked, someone told me to upgrade the nnplus folder on my desktop with tortoise and the drag it over to the dir. I have it installed on my raid, but I think that would just overwrite all my files?

    Greeting all, and thanks for some GREAT Plugins.

    As of today I have found that all the info on the website has given me the needed info for creating and running my plugins, but this plugin is giving me all sorts of problems to get working.

    The steps I have taken are as such:

    1)Through windows I have created 2 new folders (server and msql) on my cache drive under a share folder called appdata, which in turn is using cache only setting.

    2)drag mysql5_20120805.plg, simpleFeatures.web.server-1.0.5-noarch-1.plg, simpleFeatures.core.webGUI-1.0.5-noarch-1.plg and newznab_unplugged.plg into my flash /config/plugins directory.

    3) putty in my tower, cd to boot/config/plugins and install above plgs.

    4) replace lighttpd.cfg with the proper lighttpd.cfg from nnplus

    5)go to //tower:8080/settings

    6)configure webserver settings as /mnt/cache/appdata/server/www/ port 81 enable webserver. Says running Good

    7)reboot server

    8)go to //tower:8080/settings and configure mysql as /mnt/cache/appdata/mysql/ enable says running good

    9)go to //tower:8080/settings and configure newznab  /mnt/cache/server/ choose the nnplus options and enable

    10) newznab says not configure, click and brings me to step 1 all good step 2 choose database, cannot select or open database. Whoops

    11)chmod -R 777 to /mnt/cache/mysql

    12) try setting newznab again and get to step 2 and no go again.

    Can anyone help,Please, I am really stupid with mysql?
