  1. open your rclone config in a text editor, copy the entireity, and then paste into the rclone config in the UNRAID settings section.
  2. I'd actually recommend LibreElec over OpenElec now to be honest. Most of the dev team for OpenElec left and joined the forked project which is LibreElec. That's if you want to go down the Kodi route rather than Plex. Thanks for the info. I'll probably go LibreElec.
  3. Thanks for the doing all the heavy lifting and writing about it. My acer revo running openelec died last week and I need a replacement. I've settled on a Pi3 running either rasplex or openelec. Keep up the awesome work.

  5. What case is that? Looks like an awesome build! This has been a good discussion here and is something I am planning for. Thanks for all the insight!
  6. anyone using digikam to manage their photos? I have about 200,000 photos that I would like to organize, and would like some feedback whether using this docker is a viable solution. Anyone test this vs. Piwigo or Photoshow?
  7. I just installed this plugin after using the docker version last month. I removed the docker a few weeks ago, and installed the plugin. When I go to the IP:6237 I am greeted to a blank page. I tried stopping/starting the plugin to no success. I installed using Community Apps. edit: It's working now. I just restated my unraid box and it started working.

  9. Hey danioj I saw in another thread you were going to get a gtx 980 and use steam link game streaming. Have you set that up?
  10. In reply to your keyboard issues, I use <bootmenu enable='no'/> to skip the first boot menu. This focuses the keyboard on the Enoch boot loader. For passing the 25% mark on boot you need to add some boot flags at the Enoch bootloader. I used nv_disable=1 to fully boot. Then install the Nvidia webdriver. The webdriver won't work for 10.11.2 so you need to install and modify the driver with an application called NVIDIA® WebDriver Updater.app. On the NVDAStartupWeb.kext patch tab enter 15D9c as fake OS build. After installing the driver the driver thinks you're still on 10.11.1. I didn't touch anything else in the app. After installing the drivers, reboot with nvda_drv=1 at the Enoch boot loader. I need to enter this at every boot which is annoying. I hope you don't have to. Check out this post for the correct files in the /Extra folder: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44908.msg429831#msg429831 ps: I also use a GTX 960 for the OSX VM. It drives 4 monitors (1*4K, 1*HD, 2*1600x1200) perfectly fine. Working perfectly for my GTX 750 ti ! Download textwrangler and check your boot plist. Make sure textedit didnt add any garbage to it. If i used the one from the macfiles zip it added extra formatting garbage. Once I used textwranger and only had the plaintext version from the guide it worked and no longer required manually adding nvda_drv=1 Which brand of 750 ti card are you using? I'm leaning towards the EVGA or MSI versions that have 1 fan because of the compact size. I also want to make sure that the GPU passthrough works for me.
  11. Wow, thanks for the quick reply. I'll test these settings out tomorrow.
  12. Why is my Kodi not updating when I add new content to my Emby library? It seems like I need to restart my Kodi machine a few times. I am using Openelec btw.
  13. So if I get a GPU and use passthrough, I can use custom resolutions like 3440x1440 to dual monitors? I'm curious, because I read the above post and some historical posts about people pushing 2 or 3 monitors at native resolution.
  14. I just wanted to chime in here on my progress. Thanks archedraft for the guide. I am not doing USB or GPU passthrough so I guess my setup is pretty basic. My goal is to have an OSX install to play around with. A few questions: It is noted that if I want a higher resolution to add: <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1440x900x32</string> to the bootloader config in /Extra/org.chameleon.boot.plist. So does that mean I will be stuck at whatever resolution I enter into that line? I would like to use splashtop viewer from my desktop at a higher resolution vs. splashtop viewer on my laptop. Both at their native monitor resolutions. Also, after the VM is created can I add more cpu cores and RAM with the VM editor? I want to make sure before I start breaking things.

  16. Can someone help me out getting the OSK key? I am running the smc_read in terminal, and its giving me a message about not stealing. I think it's because I updated my wife's Macbook Air to El Capitan last night.
  17. How is this setup working for you? I plan on making a VM to do the same in the near future.
  18. Netgear does the same. I just created my account last week. Purchased my router a few years ago.
  19. Found this deal on slickdeals. Just bought some for my lenovo ts140 server. newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?sdtid=8415667&SID=b2148fc4b18d11e58f083ebcc7cc742e0000&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16820148770&Tpk=N82E16820148770&cm_sp= amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008EMA5VU?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=b060e63eb13b11e59f07e6fb3409ace10000
  20. Yeah, they went for the elephants in the room. I haven't played with Emby yet, but I've heard good things. Definitely no where near the user base of these behemoths though... Payed for the lifetime plex pass so im going to stick to using it. (im sure there's others) I have emby also running, for the prons great great media server (just kidding on the prons, maybe, no im kidding) I like the user interface better than Plex home theater. If you didn't pay for lifetime plex pass would you still be using it? Or Emby? I going to buy either the lifetime plex or lifetime emby very soon and would like as many opinions as possible before taking the leap.
  21. I just bought the 4 port card yesterday. It was listed in the compatible hardware section of the wiki so it should be plug and play. I looked around and I think this is the best deal right now if you need to add a few hard drives to your server.
  22. It seems like the newegg site is down when I try to browse from my laptop, but when I go to the mobile site on my phone it works. Sorry for no link, but if you look up 4tb on the mobile site, it should pop up.
  23. found this in an amazon review: Based on the specs and other clues, this hard drive is the Western Digital Red. So, you saved a hundred dollars by buying a "White Label" from GOHARDDRIVE - a 40% savings. . Reading the 1-star reviews on the WD Red, many users complained on this hard drive's short life due to the "load count problem." I examined my purchase's firmware, and it is free of this defect. Just in case if your's has this, here is an explanation of the problem and solution. . Since this hard drive's introduction, users have consistently reported premature failures and data corruption. These complaints were well warranted, for the manufacturer has shorten the life cycle of this computer component by design. . The source of the problem is Western Digital's attempt to make the device "more green" - use less electricity. One way to accomplish this goal is to park the heads on a plastic pad after eight seconds of no read/write requests instead of allowing them to float over the spinning platters of the hard drive. This adds up to 10,800 cycles each day. The numerous scrapings gradually wears out the heads. According to some literature, 250,000 to 1,250,000 cycles will result in damage that will lead to read/write errors. If you do the math, data corruption will begin within 23.148 to 115.741 days if you are employing the hard drive on a heavily used server. Regular consumers will not notice read/write problems until later. Some WD drives reported 3,000 to 5,000 cycles per day. At this rate, the first instances of data corruption will begin within 83.33 to 250 days. . From my experience, early data loss will not be noticed by the average user. There are no signs of trouble if work files are not accessed, edited, and save. With numerous usages, lost sectors on the hard drive appear and indexes become corrupted. Then, damages become apparent. During bootup, Windows OS will begin employing Check Disk (chkdsk/f) to repair errors. Chunks of bad information get deleted and corrupted indexes are re-corrected during the process. Eventually, 50%-to-60% drive gets wiped out before the user realizes the problem. He accesses a file, and there is none. Using a file manager, further examinations reveal other missing data. This degradation takes time - months to a year depending on computer usage. . Nevertheless, six years of complains have forced the manufacturer to do something - provided a firmware fix. WDIDLE3.EXE software is used to reset the parking cycle to as high as five minutes. For normal users, this change brings down the parking cycle to 133 per day. This is within the industrial average. Most drives experience 10 to 200 per day and are rated around 600,000. WDIDLE3.EXE can also turn off head parking. Unfortunately, this is not recommended. Users have reported that drive speed was reduced to a crawl or exhibited read/write problems. . This solution is a masterpiece in public relations. Instead of deactivating or eliminating the eight second head parking cycle on newly manufactured drives, WD forces the user to make the firmware change after the sale. The process is not easy, and the company's website does not explain or provide any information - it provides just the software. The procedure requires unplugging all other devices that are connected to SATA ports and numerous resets to the BIOS. The computer must boot in DOS via a CD or USB 2.0 thumb drive and typing the required codes. Just finding the necessary software to create the booting device is a pain. . As a result, non-technical consumers will not do anything and allow their hard drives to malfunction. For the "techkies," it will take hours of research, internet searches, and trial-and-error. Hopefully, they will also be discouraged. In one stroke, the company has placated the critics and still maintain high sales volume. . I have already done the necessary work. So, here is the easiest procedure using a booting USB 2.0 drive. . . GO TO GOOGLE AND DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS. . . . I can not provide links because the Amazon server automatically deletes their location. . . . . . HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool . . . . . Z-Zip . . . . . wdidle3.exe . . . . . FreeDOS (fd11src.iso) . DO THE FOLLOWING IN THIS ORDER TO CREATE A BOOTING USB 2.0 FLASH DRIVE. . . . . . 1. Install Z-Zip . . . . . 2. Use Z-Zip to extract HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and FreeDOS iso. . . . . . 3. Install the HP software. . . . . . 4. Install a USB 2.0 flash drive on one of computer's USB 2.0 ports. . . . . . . . Right-click the HP icon. . . . . . . . Go to COMPATIBILITY/PRIVILEGE LEVEL. . . . . . . . Check RUN THIS PROGRAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR. . . . . . . . Exit the program. . . . . . 5. Activate the HP program by clicking its icon. . . . . . . . Select FAT for FILE SYSTEM . . . . . . . Place a check mark on CREATE DOS STARTUP DISK . . . . . . . Go to USING DOS SYSTEM FILES LOCATED AT and point to the . . . . . . . . . . subdirectory of the FreeDOS files. It is \FREEDOS\SETUP\ODIN . . . . . 6. Format the USB 2.0 flash drive. Depending on the size, it will take time. . . . . . 7. Use WINDOWS EXPLORER to copy WDIDLE3.EXE to your formatted USB 2.0 flash drive. . SHUT OFF YOUR COMPUTER. . . . . . 1. Deactivate all devices connected to your SATA ports by pulling out their two cords. You do not want WDIDLE3.EXE to corrupt their firmware settings. . . . . . 2. Connect your Western Digital Green Hard Drive. . RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. . . . . . 1. Go into your PC's BIOS setting. . . . . . 2. Turn AHCI off. This will enable your flash drive to be recognized. . . . . . 3. Set the thumb drive as the first bootable drive. . . . . . 4. Save your BIOS settings and exit. . RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. Your thumb drive should boot the computer and go into MS-DOS. . . . . . 1. Type "wdidle3.exe" without the quotes and press ENTER. This will activate the program. . . . . . 2. Type "wdidle3.exe /r" without the quotes and press ENTER. This will show the current timeout. The factory default is eight seconds. . . . . . 3. Type "wdidle3.exe /s300" without the quotes and press ENTER. This changes the autopark timer to 300 seconds or five minutes - the maximum allowed. . . . . . 4. Type "wdidle3.exe /r" without the quotes and press ENTER. This will check that the hard drive has accepted the change. . . . . . 5. Shut off your PC. . IF YOU NEED TO PROCESS ANOTHER HARD DRIVE, pull out the two connecting cables, attach them to the next Western Digital Green drive, and repeat the above process. . ONCE FINISHED, TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND PLUG YOUR SATA DEVICES BACK. . . . . . 1. Turn on your PC . . . . . 2. Go back into your PC BIOS setting. . . . . . 3. Turn AHCI on. . . . . . 4. Change your boot order. . . . . . 5. Save your settings and exit.
