Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
After playing for a while i managed to make it work in getting the NIC orders altered. To do so I had to manually create and populate the "network-rules.cfg" file, then go to settings and in the section "Interface rules" that now appears make a change and click save (even if they where how you want them you must make a change, you can change it to be wrong and then back to be right) then it will ask for a reboot to apply the changes. If you reboot it will not work, but now you cna take the "network-rules.cfg" file and save it somewhere outside the server. Now stop the server and take the Unraid USB and plug it to another computer, go to config and add the saved "network-rules.cfg" file and remove the "network.cfg" file. Plug the USB back to the server and boot normally. Now the NICs should be in the order you set in the "Interface rules" section before rebooting. (the "network-rules.cfg" file is gone still with the section "Interface rules" so i believe this will not survive a reboot.) BUT now Unraid complains about not having internet. Both NICs are working as I want them to, I can access the server from both and from the shell I can ping everything but Unraid complains about not being able to connect to the internet... EDIT: I had to redo the routes manually and now its working fine.

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Yes, if i create the file, the network rules section appears upon page refresh, but it has no effect, as after changing which NIC is which it requires a reboot, and the "network-rules.cfg" file dissapears after rebooting.

Adding the file makes the section appear in the UI but it has no real effect

FYI the file has your MAC addresses, in case you want to remove them.

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Thanks, with my luck it is most probably not going to work, but why not try.

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Goddamit Thanks or looking in to it. As you can see, tried creating an empty "network-rules.cfg" to see if it would populate it after reboot, but no luck. Is there somewhere I can get a "network-rules.cfg" sample to se if i can manually create it and see if it works?

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Both NICs are working. I currently have a 2.5G and a 10G NICs, the 2.5G is connected to a 1G switch that is connected to the router and has internet access. The 10G NIC is connected directly to a 10G NIC on another computer. From that computer I can access the server without issues and at full 10G speeds, and from the home network I can also access the server at full 1G speeds. The issue is that Unraid assighns ETH0 to the 10G nic and expects internet from there. Diags attached. server1a-diagnostics-20230830-1323.zip

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Thanks. The file "network-rules.cfg" does not exist, i deleted "network.cfg" and all the network settings returned to default, but the "interface rules" still not there. Is there anything else to try? I'm on version 6.12.3

Moving unraid Eth0 to a new nic confusion
Hello, i added a 10G nic on my server and it took over ETH0 and its giving me headaches becasue the 10G NIC is never going to have internet access. The "Interface rules" thing would be basically the solution, but this section does not apeear in my Network Settings... Is it hidden by default?
