Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
I edited the zoneminder docker and pikced the correct appdata and data paths and it removed and reinstalled the docker. Its currently running and upgrading packages, which takes a minute. I might be ok here...I'll check back in a few after it finishes updating.

Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
done. Still no shares 😞 reboot? The dashboard and shares tab don't list any shares. But if I look inside the drive at the folders the "size" column says "share"

Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
yes, I opened the "cache" drive, ticked the boxes for each of those folders and "moved" them to the "cache_appdata" drive

Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
ok, so I ensured VM and docker were disabled and use the file manager to move the files to the new drive. I then started VM and docker services and got a server error popup, and when I check the shares they are now gone. help? Obviously I've done something wrong or missed an important step. Hopefully this can be fixed. Do I just need to recreate the shares?

Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
"Yes and no" Is in reference to the docker and VM services, at the top to turn them on and off, no is off, and yes is on. So whats the correct procedure here? Turn docker and VM services off and just copy the folder with dynamix? I don't want to mess this up, its a lot of data from my security cameras...

Trying to move appdata, domains, and system to a different share
ok, Now that I got my cache problems worked out and the array started, I've changed the shares related to VMs and Dockers. They are too big for my main cache. I've installed a 3TB disc for these shares. I've changed the shares to use it. I've tried running mover with the docker and VMs set to no and yes, and I can't get the mover to move the files from the full cache to the appdata_cache that should be there new home with the settings I've made... What am I doing wrong? nas-diagnostics-20220927-1415.zip

Cache Drive hanging Array Start
also, I have some NVME add in adapter cards coming with 2TB nvme drives to put in later this week, I may need help doing that "right" 🙂 I did already also add in a melanox 10G network adapter and that seemed to work fine, waiting on my brocade 6610 and micotik 5 port switches to come in to test.

Cache Drive hanging Array Start
Yes I tried to add the second 500gb SSD to the regular cache but it just mirrored the current drive and didn’t extend the storage capacity to 1TB. So I removed it. Its just unassigned. I tried adding it back but it doesn’t work/help

Cache Drive hanging Array Start
I just remembered one other thing I did today when I got home. I had received my PS2 to USB adapter. I have a rack mount screen with IBM keyboard and mouse and they are PS2, but my tyan s7045 motherboard doesn't have ps2 only USB. So when I got home I plugged the mouse and keyboard into the adapter and plugged the adapter into the USB port on the motherboard. I don't see how this could affect the array, but thought I should mention it in case Ive done something wrong. I don't need to have it plugged in, but its three stories down in the garage, so I'm not going down there to unplug it unless I have to 🙂

Cache Drive hanging Array Start
I dunno what I'm doing wrong, but when I try to start the array it hangs when trying to mount the "cache" drive, as far as I can tell. I added some disks earlier today and re-setup my shares to use the disks I want, ran mover, went to work. and when I came home, this is what I found... nas-diagnostics-20220926-1945.zip

So, I have a spare disc in unraid that I would like to use to store recorded footage from the cameras with. Is this possible? I have a small 500GB cache drive and I think the zoneminder docker may be filling it as I have it set to purge older than 30 days, which is how long I'd like to keep the footage. I tried to move the default data path in the docker settings but im not sure this did what I want. I may need help fixing that too....

Migration Help?
Awesome I was able to install the card and hook the drives up to it and it’s all working great. Thanks so much!

Migration Help?
Unraid will just put the array back together and everything will just work as it does now?

Migration Help?
I bit the bullet and migrated my tyan system into the super micro chassis. I have the system setup as before except the 3gbs sata ports are attached to the sas backplane and then the drive are attached to that. Seems to be working fine. I’m really pleased with how it all turned out. It’s fun to see blinking lights on the hot swap bays! my new question is migrating the drives from the motherboards 3gbs sata ports to my lsi 6gbs sas card in IT mode. Can I just plug the sas breakout cable into the drives and unraid won’t notice? Or is there some migration procedure? I don’t want to lose the data on the drives. This is just for the unraid array, my cache SSD is on a 6gbs sata port on the motherboard (it only has two of these ports).
