  1. When I was trying to boot Plop from a USB, it didn’t work properly. I’m currently using a CD and the internal SATA DVD drive, but I’d still prefer that it was external.
  2. Fantastic! That’s how I boot it too. Are you using the internal ODD bay for the CD? I’ve been looking for ways to move the plopkexec outside of the SATA header in my Mac Pro, but I haven’t tried booting the CD externally.
  3. The light gray screen with the question mark folder means that no boot device was found. It’s odd that adding a PCIe device would cause the boot devices to be unrecognized, but looking at how you’re booting plopkexec would probably be the place to start.
  4. I'm confirming that this also works with a Mac Pro 4,1. However, to save some more time, I wasn't able to get the drive to boot when I put plopkexec 1.6 on a USB instead of a CD. Only the CD worked.
