Thanks I had to reinstall win 11 to my main pc and managed to find a back up, so will hopefully use that to get back up and running

Hi I had a power cut and lost as an as I know the usb stick (tried in win 11 and it failed) so burned a new stick as I was in my trial and set up unraid again and now it is asking me to select parity drive and add my drives back into the array. How do I or unraid know which drive to pick as parity, atm the moment I have restarted the server a few times and it all seems to be fine at least restarting anyway but the warning I’m getting when setting up the parity and array about losing all data is worrying? Thanks

Sorry stopped the docker and vm (although nothing in that ) and tried mover a few times but it wouldn’t move, also tried it after a reboot with the same result, I just wondered if it was something I had done when playing around before I did a new setup with my back up files added to the usb

Ended up using mc to move the file over as it wouldn’t move using mover, all seems to be working fine atm. thanks to all for the help really appreciate it

i have an empty folder on cache

Thanks, i must be listening and taking some things in as this is what i tried after my last post, so my docker moved of disk onto cache but i am left with libvirt.img file @ 1.07Gb don't know why i have this. Can i delete or move this folder to cache ? Thanks

thank you i have checked and i have cache set up for prefer, so this must have happened when i did a backup install when i was learning and first set it up. can you help on how to stop services and then move the files please? Thanks

Hi I have a new set up with 4 x 4Tb disks one being parity, one has just files on it and the other two for media, although only one disk has anything on it. I have a cache ssd set up and two apps installed plex and home assistant. Now I have noticed if I log in to the ui at random times that I see the parity and disk one have spun up with the others still down, I have power down set to 15 minutes and anything scheduled to run on Sunday. If I go into disk logs all I see are disk spinning down then up for smart, but I could be mixed up, can anyone see anything in the logs or tell me that this is normal ? yes and just tried it again and had to use a user to see the folders in windows

Thank you so if I just wanted to delete everything bar the files I have already moved onto unraid (as in my other post I think I set everything up wrong) so would like to restart but keep my data

So I must have set it up wrong as i definitely used root to add, alter and remove files to my share folders

hi i have had it this way for the last few weeks since i set my system up go into windows and then network and click the server as root and im in, just stopped working today, maybe i set it up wrong at the start

Hi i tried to open my share folders which has been working fine and today i got refused and had to input my root name and password which was access denied, i then logged in with my user name and password which got me in. i am able to log into the web ui with the root details just not windows folders, i then went into the web ui and reinputted my root password and saved it, can anyone look at my diagnostics and see anything ? Anyone using the above, I’m looking to increase memory and the gigabyte site is a bit out of date, so currently running 4x4 Gb ram and would like either 8Gb or 16Gb sticks ? Thanks

Thanks for your help and for setting me straight

So do i just download new files on a usb then replace the following files from the flash backup to keep current share settings. i copy all the files from /config/shares, /config/super.dat, /config/pools folders and restart and i will have a fresh install but keep my files, reason is i have been tinkering and now i would like to start afresh? Thanks

Hi I followed space invader ones video about setting up backups and have got lost about setting up the share, I set it up but he doesn’t show what discs to use or if I have to use the cache pool, I’m sure I missed something, can anyone have a look and tell me more ? Thanks atm all I have is the community application plug in and from that I installed plex and home assistant and that is all I have, I will have a read up on the others you have mentioned, I just wanted to have the essentials added and have the system running smoothly before I try anything else.
