Hi running current build 7.0.0 and was running parity check and had 6 hours left after 20+ hours and tried to log in and found server was off, only way to start was to switch the psu off and leave for a minute and then switch it back on and it restarted. Thanks just in time I did this and my parity check kicked in, but I was able to see in the shares that I could now set the free space and which discs to use, so looks like it’s fixed thank you

Hi running beta 4 and I can’t move any files onto the array I get error no free space but have 35Tb free. I download onto a ssd alter the files then move onto array using Windows and smb broxi-diagnostics-20241105-2351.zip

Update after running “etc/rc.d/rc.samba restart” still unable to connect, so tried with my user name instead of root and it all works again, does this sound correct, it’s been a while but thought I logged in via root

Hi running 7 beta 4 and just added a couple of Sas drives and noticed I can’t spin them down like the sata drives, any pointers to solving this?

Hi I have cleared out 4 small drives to be removed from my array and before I remove them I also decided I don’t now need dual parity as I will be down to only 3 array drives, so can anyone help on the process of adding one of my parity drives to the array?

So nothing on it unraid needs, just double checking?

Hi I removed old parity drive and am currently rebuilding parity with two new drives, in regards to the old disconnected parity drive can I remove it permanently and put in windows machine?

Running 7.0.0-beta.3. Hi I have been looking at the guides but can’t see anything for the above. I assume run preclear on new drive to test but then I am lost. Is there a guide or post I can follow as the recommended route ? Thanks

I was Just worried about having a sas as parity mixed with a SATA drive

Hi I ordered a 20 Tb sas drive thinking to add it to my array and move a 18Tb to the existing 18Tb parity drive creating dual parity, forgetting the rule about parity being the largest. So any help on what my options are ?

Hi i have a single drive called downloads and have my arrs downloading to /downloads, so the downloads appear to start and download okay with me checking and say 2-3 Gb downloaded but these are no where in any shares and if i try to login after a few hours the web gui wont accept the details, reboot and the arrs show errors and still no downloaded files. i get the same problems when i have the arrs started but stop them and login is fine. any help broxi-diagnostics-20240707-1346.zip

tried to download diagnostics but crashes mid way through, completed a parity check two days ago withy no errors

well after a couple of hours googling it seems that it was my docker permissions ran docker safe new perm and i can now read/write to the files in this share. @Frank1940i will have a read up on what you suggested. Thanks

Hi win 11 and switched on last night and had lost access to my downloads share on unraid server , it wouldn't accept my password all other shares were fine then i came out of file explorer and tried again this time all files were denied access but it accepted my password and all seemed okay till i tried to move anything inside the downloads share i get the following "you require permission from server/nobody to change this file". hi i just added a couple of nvme as a pool for my cache drive and also have a single nvme that i am going to set up for downloads, so can i ask where the following should be cache or array ? Thanks

Thanks I’m sure parity is valid as it just completed at the start of the month, but I just let it start and run, as a newbie I have to trust unraid knows better than me. Thanks
