  1. Last version had a bug per the developer (no WebGUI) so need new docker for fix that was posted. Thanks.
  2. Hello, I am an long time user of Unraid but a real novice. I'm currently on 6.3.5 which has been very stable. See that an upgrade is available and in plugins went to upgrade and get the following message. boot device shows 113500 free but upgrade needs 166192 As a long time user the flash drive is old and small (500mb). Is there a workaround for this or a way to upgrade my flash drive without paying for a new license? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the array is only about 30% full. Can't even write to a disk that is completely empty. Afraid to migrate to anything since I can't write to the disks..........
  4. Here is the complete diagnostics zip file if that would be helpful. Thanks. shore-diagnostics-20170211-1508.zip
  5. Running 6.19 Novice user. My writes to the array (all drives) got very very slow and now they can not even finish without failure. This is from multiple windows PS's. I can read fine and can still watch 720p movies on the server via Plex. Tried rebooting since the server was up for a long time with no impact. I then ran reiserfsck on all drives but all was fine. So I'm stuck on what to do and any help would be appreciated. i attached the syslog, but even some ideas of things to try would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Alan syslog.txt
  6. I followed the instructions and have Phaze plugins on my GUI (deleted all my old plugins). When I click Plex Media Server it shows installed version as "Not Installed' . If I click install button it comes back as "install file missing". Tried to also manually download .deb file and put in packages but still won't install. Any help appreciated. Running 5.06. Thanks.
  7. Hello, Been running 5.04 since 2013 without fail. However the last few weeks the system has come to a crawl transferring files in either direction. A file (say 300mb) which use to take under a minute to transfer could take an hour (well I've just given up trying). The server has plex on it and strangely calls for video from my roku seem to be working fine (meaning the video is completely watchable with no stuttering). Although I've been running unraid for a very long time my knowledge is very limited. BTW, as a test I transferred the same file between 2 PC's on the network without issue to eliminate the router as the problem. Attached is a syslog, any help very appreciated. 8. Joe L., Thanks for the ideas. Question is when I try to solve this, is the best way to get the disk green is to re-build the array? If so each time I try something it could take 24 hours to see if it works. I see there is Trust My Array, but the writeup on that looks scary. What would be the best way to troubleshoot the disk back to green (to see if it stays green)? I've copied all the data from that drive to a few disk so I'm not afraid of losing the data on Disk 2. Thanks. Alan
  9. Still on 4.7 So I got a red ball on disk 2. I replaced the disk and had it rebuild the data. A day later it was finished and all was green. I thought I had solved it but the next day the same disk 2 was red. So I assume that it was not the disk drive itself but something else. So this involves opening the case so perhaps some troubleshooting help would be appreciated. 1. All other disk work on the Sata controller card but guess it could be failing? 2. Could be something wrong with the Sata cable itself. So I try 2. first and then if still red I would need to replace the card. Any other tips for a newbie on troubleshooting this issue? Thanks. Alan
  10. Solved by running New Permissions from the Utils menu of the Unraid Web GUI.
  11. My bad. Unraid 5.0 beta 11 When I say bombed, the system locked up and forced a reboot so I didn't get a syslog. Attached is the current syslog. Running parity and disk 1 is now showing errors. Wondering if I actually have a Sata add on card problem as opposed to bad disks, though not sure that would cause my inability to access disk 5 as unraid clearly accessed it no problem to re-build the entire disk. Thanks. syslog_0704_mymy.txt
  12. Hello, I had a red ball next to a drive (disk 5) but had no spare drives. As the drive was accessible, I started to copy the files to a free disk (disk eight) on the system. Didn't follow wiki correctly and It created a disk 5 directory on disk 8. Seems like it bombed in the middle and stopped copying. At that time, disk 5 was not accessible by SMB nor the directory "disk 5" on disk 8. So I bought a new drive and started the data rebuild which seemed to work perfectly. However I can still not access disk 5 through SMB with the new drive. In windows diagnostics it says "disk 5" is available but the user account you are logged on with was denied access. All other disks are available through SMB. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Alan
  13. Got the dreaded red dot on one drive after a power outage on reboot. System started up fine otherwise and is accessible. Even the red dot drive is read accessible (haven't tried to write to it) Ran the smart report and any help deciphering would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Alan smartm.txt
  14. First part of syslog. syslog_930_mymy_part_1.txt
  15. Hello, I had just precleared a drive and was ready to add it to the array. So I pressed stop and that's when the Web GUI became unreachable. I was still able to telnet to the console with no issues and all commands that I tried responded. Form the Wiki I used the console commands to stop the array (samba had already stopped and the drives were unmounted) and when I used /root/mdcmd stop I got "line 11: /proc/mdcmd: No such file or directory". Don't know if this is significant or not. Attached is the syslog. Its in two parts due to size. I think the problems happened on 9/29 at 9:31am (was away for a few days since). That is in the part 2 file. Any help would be appreciated. Alan Unraid 5.0 r11 syslog_930_mymy_part_2.txt
  16. The designations of the drives are assigned dynamically, even from one boot to another they can change. They are assigned as the linux kernel identifies then as they spin up and initialize. Go by the model/serial numbers. NEVER assume the same disk if all you are going by is sda, sdb, etc. It sounds as if you still have a disk.cfg file that points to the old disk config. What version of unRAID are you running? What version of the preclear script are you running? Type preclear_disk.sh -v to see the version. I'm using UnRaid 5.0 beta 11 and preclear version is 1.13. I am sure that sda, sdb etc. is not part of my array, so I know that is not the issue. Can you help me check the disk.cfg file. Thanks so much for your help.
  17. Hello, I moved a six disk array to a new box/motherboard etc (Raj's 22 drive beast...thanks!). First I brought the six disk array back up without adding any drives, no issues. Then I added 7 new drives physically to the box. Brought back up unraid and saw that my six drives which were sda to sdf, were now sdh to sdm. The 7 new drives had been assigned sda to sdg. I started the arrray without assigning any of the new drives to Unraid. I then used putty to telnet to the box and tried to preclear sda, and I got the message that prclear won't run on a drive already in the array. Am I getting messed up because the original six drive array was sda-sdf (now sdh-sdm) so somehow preclear thinks they are already in the array. Any help would be appreciated. Also I haven't tried this yet but I'm assuming that it will allow me to preclear sdg only as that was never assigned to the original array. Thanks. Alan
  18. Johnm, Thanks for the info. I see that that board runs the 1155 Sandy Bridge processor. Which one are you using? Also are you using the SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 add on card with your setup? Thanks again, Alan Alan, the 22 Drive Beast Raj has listed is the SUPERMICRO MBD-X8SIL-F-O. That board should have no issues running 3TB Drives. Hitachi's for sure. I dont think anyone here is running WD 3TB drives in unraid that I noticed. I also know for a fact the next version of that board, the X9SCM-F-O runs 3TB drives just fine. that's what I am running in an ALL 3TB setup of 10 3TB drives.
  19. Raj, I am looking at your 22 drive beast as a new build but I want to wait for your compatibility tests with 3tb drives. How is the testing going? Thanks for all your support on this site. Alan As relating to boot drives, you are right. However, as relating to data drives, many motherboards on the market today can make use of the full 3 TB capacity without UEFI. Each particular piece of hardware requires hands-on testing to make sure one way or the other. As pertains to this particular hardware, I currently have some 3 TB Hitachi CoolSpin drives that I am going to be using to test out all the motherboards and controllers I have over the next couple of weeks. The Biostar A880G+ is one of the motherboards I will be testing. If you aren't in too much of a hurry, I suggest that you might want to wait for my test results before making any purchasing decisions. I will try to be expedient in my testing. Feel free to PM or email me for progress updates.
  20. Joe, Thanks so much for your help, I ran smartctl and it said the drive is failing (as per attached). Time for a new disk. Thanks again. Alan smartc1.txt
  21. I upgraded from 4.42 to latest and after the reboot, drive 1 showed mounting and each refresh the errors increased. Thought it may be due to the upgrade, so I shut off the server and reloaded 4.42 but the same thing happened. Left it overnight and this morning the drive had mounted with 32,000 errors! Parity started but it is so slow that it said 85,000 minutes to go. A week earlier drive 1 did experience problems that occurred when I tried to erase a large 35GB directory on it. At that time I rebooted the server and that seemed to help and I was able to delete the directory. I also noticed that transferring files to the server was much slower on the server than my other unraid server I am running. Attached is the syslog (it is only a small part though I included the end as even in zip format it's so big it was above posting limits!) I ran this morning. Any help would really be appreciated.
