  1. is it possible that my server (HPE ML10 Gen9) does not support S3? If so, how can i enter S4?
  2. WOL does also not work always. Sometimes the server does not resume and sometimes it resumes. But when the server is shutted down WOL always works.
  3. it seems like some (or all) disks are spinning up when entering sleep and they spin the whole time
  4. No my system seems like powered on but isnt pingable/web ui does not respond Yes i can resume with WOL or push power button, server resumes quite fast I already tried to find settings in bios but nothing that sounds like s3 or sleep or hibernate or similar helped
  5. My server consumes ~50 Watts in idle (all drives spun down). To reduce my server's power consumption even more I wanted to enable s3 sleep and wol. The problem is that my server does draw 50 watts in s3 mode. I activated sleep via: echo -n mem > /sys/power/state and also tried the dynamix plugin I also searched for bios settings which could help but nothing helped. One problem I also have is that powertop only shows C3 state but I enabled all C states (C8) in bios. (but I think this problem is independent from the s3 sleep problem) My system: HPE ML10 gen9 Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1225 v5 64 GB ECC Ram HBA in IT Mode internal connectors (Fujitsu 9211-8i) all internal drives (except ssds) are connected to this HBA in IT Mode external connectors (LSI sas9200-16e) this is not in use but connected, I know this draws power but I want to add external drives at some point in the near future 2 8TB SAS drives 3 4TB SATA WD RED 3 2TB SATA (WD Red + HP Enterprise Disks) 2 Samsung 1TB 870 Evo SSDs (cache pool) 4 port Gigabit Ethernet PCI card (my LAN cable is connected to this card) Do you have any ideas what the problem could be? Do you need any logs? If so, please tell my where i can download them from my server (never had to do this before)
  6. Could you share your bios setting? I only get to c3
  7. Yes. I will use a HBA in IT mode with external interfaces and get some sff8088 cables to connect the drives
  8. @JorgeB so what would happen if 4 drives are offline and i only have 1 parity? Does the array stop then? How would I be able to get the array working? As far as I know i have to rebuild every disabled disk. But if i only have 1 parity and 4 drives were missing what would happen then? I am considering a JBOD and do not want to lose data if the JBOD loses connection (power or cable) Best regards
