  1. Thanks everyone! server has been stable for 14 days, while troubleshooting the hardware aspect i noticed that the fan profile was set to quiet so i ramped up the fans and cleaned up some unused plug-ins and general maintenance.

    Thanks again!

  2. Thanks ill start a slow process of elimination with regards to the hardware.

One setting i did change which im not if it could cause problems is that i changed my docker directory from /mnt/user/system/docker to /mnt/<zfs_cache_drive>/docker

My idea was to bypass the Fuse system if that makes any sense. Please let me know if this is a bad thing to do.

So I believe you misread/it was unclear, but what I was trying to do is have it so that my thumbnail indexes were not on my SSD because it isn't so large and with a lot of content it quickly would fill up. Anyhow, you reminded me that using a symlink is what I had originally tried before realizing I could just use the template in Unraid to map the path, and so that's what I did just now and it worked, so my issues is resolved, thank you for sparking that memory.

Did you add another host path in your docker template? maybe something like /config/media -> /mnt/ssd-cache-drive/Media?

  4. Sounds like a board issue. i fried my board when i connected a GPU riser, the pcie x1 connector had some glue and the seem to have fried the board. power delivery was always good due to the fact that lights would come up and all. although its my fault for using some off brand riser, i feel Asus has been cutting corners on their products lately.

  5. Second time Unraid's GUI crashes on me. this started after I created a ZFS pool for my cache drive.

i think my system is running out of RAM, can you help me confirm?

i can still browse shares and docker apps seem to be working fine so it is not very critical. Last time i rebooted Unraid to get things back to normal.

    Thanks!

    Edit:

I ran these to restart the GUI (hope it helps someone)

    killall -s TERM nginx
    /etc/rc.d/rc.nginx start

  6. Hey everyone,

im looking for a fan (PWM) controller compatible with unraid. i want to be able to slow down my fan because they are running pettry high! i have pwm fans but im using some off brand fan hub and it pulls power from a sata power connector so i guess its passing too much power. any suggestions other than setting fan curves in the BIOS?

im using a mix of noctua fans and corsair ml120

    Thanks!

I would strongly recommend that you create a thread over here:

Anyways, please go to the Docker settings (with Advanced View enabled) and switch from MACVLAN to IPVLAN, restart your server afterwards and see if that fixes your issue.

Hey @ich777 it seems like switching to IPVLAN resolved my issue. I haven't had any more kernel panics after the change and also i put stress on my system for further verification.

i don't recall changing that setting to MACVLAN but who knows, maybe i did!

    Here are some logs

  8. Hey guys,

Been getting some kernel panic after upgrading to Version: 6.12.0-rc3; im thinking about rolling back but figured i would post this info just in case i helps in some way.

I'm working on a few smart issues so if you see that please know that I'm aware and will be replacing some drives soon! (not thanks to you WD!)

Oh, prior to the upgrade i installed btop-1.2.13-x86_64-1_SBo_UES.txz via nerdpack but removed it just before posting. not is if this was causing some trouble since it was the last thing i did before the upgrade.

    Thank you.
