Would something like this work for a DIY case setup?
vibration with that type isn't much of a concern with the newer drives (NAS/pro) versions they made it for this issue. Enterprise drives will be fine. my new case (waiting for this to arrive) - waited for black friday 50% off + free shipping - regular price is 399 aud + 120aud shipping. So grabbing this for 349 aud was great. So i saved 170 aud for black friday sale. temps should be fine around 30-50c. (mine is around 36/37 average) goes down to 30-35 when AC is on.

How do you add lots of hard drive sata ports to your setup?
look for HBA (host bus adapter) thats what i use for mine. Silverstone 6port (sample) You don't need those raid type ones (unraid don't need those)

Replacing a dying drive
its rebuilding now on disk 3. Not sure why disk5 was emulated. But when this disk3 is done. Still waiting for my new Case then i can remove it from the hdd enclosure. I think i can breath now lolz! will just keep this open until 100% rebuild is done. Thank you so much JorgeB!

Replacing a dying drive
I'm not sure. this is the 1st time (it happened) just fairly new on unraid, about a little over a month. should i just wait until it finish rebuild? and then replace faulty disk3?

Replacing a dying drive
Disk 5 (new) added to the array (so there should be nothing on it). Disk 3 failed 2 days ago and I shut it down until i just got the 12tb replacement today and when i boot the system up, tried to replace disk 3 but wont let me (due to many changes) that's why i posted here coz, i don't know what to do. So when the rebuild is done. Disk 5 (should show as "green")? then i can replace disk3 with the WD 12tb? then after that, remove the disk from the enclosure then rebuild disk 5 (again?)

Replacing a dying drive
Thanks jorgeB for the reply, Is the rebuild working to get Disk5 back on from being emulated? I'm just waiting for my Define 7 xl to arrive (i should have not put the drive in the enclosure and not added to the array) there is nothing in that drive. I only pre-cleared it and added to the array) then a day after disk3 went fubar. should i pre-clear this new drive or just just replace disk3 when it's done rebuilding?

Replacing a dying drive
i'm a noob so i hope you have a long patience answering my queries. Is the Disk3 (dying drive) being rebuild? when i try to put the new drive (unassigned disk) It wont turn the array due to to many error. Should I just continue this and when its done, change disk3 to the new drive? darwin-diagnostics-20221123-1430.zip
