I traced the GUI issue to something broken with the SSL configuration - perhaps related to the bug fixed with the latest update ("WebGui doesn't load under certain circumstances"). I was able to disable the SSL by editing the Nginx conf files, after which I was able to log in via Http. Once I logged in to the interface, all I had to do was update to the latest update, reboot, and the problems appear to have gone away. This update process has taught me never to update Unraid until at least 30-60 days post the release of an update. I jumped on the update when it was available - if I had waited for the bug-fix update, I would have been OK.

But how do I do this when the web Gui isn’t working?

Hi, My Unraid server was working great, but after the most recent update, it freezes on a regular basis. The symptoms are somewhat consistent - the Unraid web gui gives a 502 Bad Gateway, the docker containers start to freeze up over a period of hours-days (within a day or two). When I do a hard reboot, the docker containers work for a day or so, but the GUI doesn't work at all. I can, however, SSH into the server. I'm having the same issue. I'll pull logs and attach in a bit, but wanted to reply so I track this post. Ever since I upgraded, my server has been acting weird. It has crashed multiple times, freezes, services die etc. I just rebooted and while all the containers are up, the Unraid webGUI is giving a 502 bad gateway. It's very very unlikely to be a hardware issue. I'm using relatively new hardware (it's a Dell Optiplex Micro, around 2 years old,), and everything was working flawlessly with multiple months of uptime.. till I installed this update. After that, issues galore. I suppose it's possible that something in the machine broke, but the simpler explanation is that something in the update isn't working right. I'm seeing more people post about similar issues as well. Kinda disappointed with Unraid on this. I had moved from a self-administered Proxmox server thinking that Unraid would be easier.. but this update has reduced my confidence in Unraid. My Proxmox server ran for 5+ years, with many, many point upgrades and multiple major upgrades, and never once had an issue. I hope this is something minor and easily fixed.

I never buy flash drives or other small electronics (chargers etc) from Amazon now. It doesn’t matter what store or seller you choose, your odds of getting a fake are just too high. I’ve had fake USB, fake chargers, even fake water filters show up despite trying my best to buy from the official store on Amazon. they simply don’t care and mix inventory so fake and real are all mixed together. now I go to best buy or Costco. Never had any issues with anything I bought at a real store.
