  1. I have been wondering how to do this with my server (I am currently building it so havent actually tried my method yet, but in theorie it should work) Thought I would share, perhaps it can help you. My router supports the dd-wrt custom firmware, I am planning to flash it to this. What I will do that is setup a WOL daemon on the router that will wake up my server every day at a specific time. (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/WOL) And run a cron job on the server itself to switch off at a certain time everyday
  2. Just in case anyone ever has the same issue. I solved it by flashing my Motherboard to the latest firmware (should have done that as first thing really)
  3. HiSoC8Y can you let me know what change you made in your BIOS? I am trying to get my M1015 to work on my ASUS A75-V PRO but it wont post either. Perhaps your changes can push me in the right direction

    Build check

I have just ordered my unraid Pro license and been lurking here for ages. But now it is finally time to build my first unraid server. As everyone I would appreciate a quick check on my shopping list to see if it includes any stupidities. First the standard information: What is your budget? I am looking for bang for my buck, currently I am looking at spending around 600 Euro's (incl 2 new drives) How many drives? I will start off with 6 excisting drives, adding 2 newly bought ones. Maximum I expect to reach is 15. unRAID Add Ons? Yes, sickbeard, Couchpotato and SABNzb. Those are must haves, might add others once my server is running smoothly and I feel I am missing something. green/low power drives or faster 7200 rpm drives? a combination of excisting drives, but any new drives will be green. Spare parts? Yes 6 drives which are now all in USB enclosers attached to my Asrock ION running XMBC in the living room. My current shopping list: Case: Fractal Design Define XL http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&category=2∏=69 MoBo: Asus F1A75-V PRO http://www.asus.nl/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75V_PRO/ CPU: AMD A6-3650 Boxed http://products.amd.com/en-gb/DesktopAPUDetail.aspx?id=16&f1=&f2=&f3=&f4=&f5=&f6=& Memory: Kingston ValueRAM KVR1066D3S8N7/4Ghttp://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/partsinfo.asp?ktcpartno=KVR1066D3S8N7/4G PSU: Corsair Builder CX600 V2 http://www.corsair.com/power-supplies/non-modular-psus/builder-series/builder-series-cx600-v2-80plus-certified-power-supply.html PSU: FSP Aurum 500 http://www.fsplifestyle.com/psu/aurum-series/aurum-500/ Controller: Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 http://www.supermicro.com/products/accessories/addon/AOC-SASLP-MV8.cfm Controller: IBM ServeRAID M1015 SAS/SATA http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/tips0740.html Reasonings:The case will hold 10 drives inside, once I reach more I will add a 5in3 to get to my maximum 15. Between the MoBo's 7 SATA ports and the controllers 8 I will get a maximum of 15. Any comments, concerns, obvious mistakes or general good luck wishes. Please do leave a message. [Edit]After some feedback on GoT (a dutch computer forum) I made some changes.
