You can choose which NIC is eth0 in Settings -> Network Settings -> Interface Rules
Good suggestion. I overlooked that option when I was configuring my 10 gigabit card.

No problems last night! It runs smoothly..

I just noticed today during booting of unRAID server I see loading the "haveged daemon" when I google I came to the following site:
http://www.issihosts.com/haveged/
What is the purpose for this daemon? Were is it used for in unRAID?

So cache drive is recovered thanks to the post that I linked above.
I'm only not sure why my server was hanging.. Something to investigate further. If you have any idea then please leave a comment behind.

Found this excellent post. I'm trying to recover the cache drive!

Interesting.. I found this in the syslog:

Hi,
After an forced shutdown my cache drive isn't mountable. Is it possible to repair the file system? Till now I'm not sure why my server was hanging. I will attach the diagnostic file. Please some help.
-
Little heads-up the icon needs a update!
-
Thanks for this guide there was some information that I didn't know for example if you have a terminal window open what causes a unclean shutdown.
-
Found this thread afer a search:
https://forums.unraid.net/topic/60493-can-btrfs-fix-bitrot/
Clarifies everything!!!
-
Should I format the data drive with the XFS filesystem or is better to use the BTRFS filesystem? Does BTRFS protect you against bitrot?
update: I see that XFS is still the default setting.
-
upgraded two systems successfully while drinking a glass of water... Thank you!
[offtopic]
I like to see some enhancements to unRAID that we can host unRAID safely from a data center.
[/offtopic]
-
Upgraded without a issue.
I'm still very satisfied with the new look of unRAID! In my opinion it looks more professional.
[offtopic]
Are there plans to integrate a firewall into unRAID? I like to host a unRAID server in a Data center.

Thanks for reply!
It was keeping my HDD 10 for days awake. It was searching in same directories over and over again. I delete these directories and now the issue is gone. It was almost if it was in a loop.
-
I have issue when checking "Open Files" I see the utility "find" busy. It's keep my drive awake. When I kill the process it's returning. Any idea?
When I start the unRAID server"Find" is immediately active. So only the array is up and no Docker or VM's.
-
yes, true!
I found out that the first three are false positives for sure.

Hi,
I have found a virus on one of my servers (not a unRAID server). I scanned that server with ClamAV. Is there a package for unRAID? I just want to double check that unRAID is not infected or any container.

This card is a plain HBA.
Firmware is available in that place and instructions should be there also, if you need more assistance, feel free to ask.
Much, much appreciated!!! When I can find some more time I try to flash the card. When I have more question I report back.

I tested copying files from hdd to hdd witch are mounted with Unassigned Devices and I can say these copy speeds are faster. The speeds are around 200Mb/sec. So I suspect that the array thinks that there still is a parity drive and that is the reason why I see speeds of around 100Mb/sec coping from hdd to hdd witch are mounted to the array. So to be clear there was a parity drive some time ago but not at the moment but the copy speed of the array from hdd to hdd are still around 100Mb/sec. Not sure if this is normal behaviour or a bug...

I have a weird issue, and it happend before. The only thing to get Plex working again was a re-install.
I'll explain. My TV Shows with EAC3 sound don't wanna play. Other files play perfectly. Here a snippet of my log with the error:

For some reason Plex is writing the temp-file "/tmp/pms-166ab604-f2a6-4907-ae63-d4afc85a7ea1" to the "tmp" directory in the Docker container. I tried to set the transcode folder but it doesn't help. Also see the screenshot.
Does anyone know what's going on?

Hi I have a LSI 9207-8i. How do I upgrade this card? Is there a guide? Has anybody upgraded this card before?

Nice to read the history of unRAID and that everything went well.

That sounds like a perfectly normal speed for copying disks! Not sure why you think it should be faster!
110MB/sec is network speed on a gigabit network. Sata 600 is much faster. It's faster as the HDD. I copy a large file from HDD to HDD. If I'm correct the 10TB Ironwolf's do read (sequentieel) 210MB/sec I'm not sure what they do when writing. That is why I'm asking.

Sounds slow if you have no parity. My ironwolf 6TB drives do 150mbps easily and consistently. If I'm correct 100 -110MB/sec with parity drive is normal. True?

I have a chassis with a expander backplane it's connected to a LSI 9207-8i (dual link). All drives are 10TB Ironwolf's. If I copy a file from one disk to another via the terminal with mc my speeds are avg 110MB/sec (/mnt/disk1/movies --> /mnt/disk2/movies). I have no parity drive installed at the moment. I have feeling that this is to slow but I'm not sure. Please some help from a expert.

Hi,
I have found machine check events on my server. Fix common problems has warned me for three times now so I guess it's time to find out what the problem is. Can someone help to solve the issue? I have my thoughts what the issue is. I have attached my diagnostic file to this post.
