  1. Thank You Jorge, much appreciated
  2. Hi guys, I am trying to troubleshoot an issue where my server has suddenly become very noisy, almost certainly vibration-related. I unplugged the case fans and the GPU in turn, then briefly unplugged my CPU fan but no dice. That leaves me with hard drives. I've run smart tests and they come back fine, but from the sound, I would assume it would be an upcoming mechanical failure. I haven't been able to find a forum answer about temporarily removing a drive from the pool safely as my idea was to unplug each in turn and try to isolate where the sound is coming from and ship that drive off to Seagate for replacement. Is there a safe way to do this or can you suggest any other way of isolating a single drive? I only have 4 drives in the array at present so it should be easy to locate. Edit Sorry, found it, was something I didn't think of initially. PSU, Seasonic can deal with the RMA then. But an answer to the initial question would be interesting for future reference.
  3. @enJOyIT Clearly you didn't read my post in it's entirety, or the point I am making has just gone whoosh right over your head. Both the OP and I came into the Ecosystem just prior to the announcement on license changes and by the time you can decide if the system truly meets your needs the price has been changed.
  4. Precisely the same issue, when trying something new you will come in at the base level to be sure that it is what you need, then boom, ridiculous percentage price increase. Only jumped on the Unraid wagon 2 months ago with the starter using 6 disks. Now if I want to go to plus I have to double up what I originally paid for goodness sake, not the best experience to start with on Unraid. How you can justify doubling the price I paid 8 weeks ago just to attach a few more drives storage is beyond me. Would have paid the initial $39 dollars readily to upgrade but came too early after I started using the server and seeing if it was right for me long term. But $59 leaves a very bad taste in the mouth now that they have me hooked into the ecosystem. Seems new users like us at the very back end of the old system pricing have been royally shafted.
  5. Can't find the setting to disable these either, bloody annoying. Call me grumpy but I don't want this stuff in a paid product.
