  1. Ah ok - that makes sense. So as long as when I open the drive and it confirms “0 files, 0 folders” I’m basically safe to proceed removing the drive from my system. This forum is brilliant. Thank you!
  2. You spotted my obvious error.. sorry it says 20Gb! Still a lot though! Rx
  3. Hi All, Me again - a noob Unraid user. So I’m trying to clear a drive down to remove as it’s failing. I’ve managed to use “Unbalance” to move folders away from the offending drive. If I open the offending drive it shows 0 folders and 0 files, but in the “Main” overview it says 20Tb is being used. Why is this, and how can I be sure it’s totally clear from data that I might need so I can safely remove it? Many thanks, Richard.
  4. Thank you for the clear explanation. All good. I'm working on clearing it now - the vendor has been helpful and is offering to replace it, so no complaints there. Rx
  5. To follow up, what is the significance of the error presented (to a layman!)? Should I abandon the drive at the earliest possible time, or might it limp on until I can get a replacement in the next week or so? What is the expected prognosis of a patient in this state?! Rx
  6. Hi ChatNoir, Many thanks for your speedy response. The extended self test came up with "read failure" which no doubt confirms your suspicions. I've contacted the vendor - fingers crossed for a positive outcome! Rx
  7. Hi, I'm new to the Unraid world. I have one "new" 12TB drive I bought off a retailer on Ebay in "never used" condition, and twice now I've seen the thumbs down icon on the Unraid Dashboard. When I click on the drive in question (Disk 2 - sdd) - and show the SMART error log it says "No Errors Logged". SMART self-test history shows 1 short offline test "Completed without error" and the LifeTIme (hours) 132 - which is probably roughly what its been in my server. Previously I acknowledged the smart error and waited to see if it happened again - which it has, which now causes me to be here to ask questions! Should I be concerned? It seems like its a phantom error as no Smart errors have been logged? Attached is the drive SMART report which might show something to you clever people! Thank you for any insight you can offer. 8. Perfect - thanks guys! I hadn’t appreciated the process has changed - this all makes sense. Rx
  9. Hi, I'm a very new Unraid user, but absolutely loving it. I've just started building up my main server, and I bought some NVME to act as cache drives. I've created two pools with them - one as a single "drive" and one as a dual mirrored "drive". But I can't see anywhere to allocate my shares to use the cache. In the settings I can see that the flag "Enable User Share Assignment" is set to yes. When I watch a YouTube video, I can see a drop down selection on the Shares tab. But that dropdown isn't there for me. I've formatted the pools, and they look fine in the Main display with green lights. What am I missing? Many thanks, Richard.
