gave up on the Intel ARC A380 for transcoding
I built my first unRaid server about a year ago and installed an ARC A380 from the start. Initially, I encountered an issue because Intel ARC GPUs were not officially supported until the beta 7.0 releases. Since then, I've struggled with transcoding stability in Plex. I tried two different Plex containers, but both had the same problem. I even tried Jellyfin, with similar results. A couple of days ago, I installed an RTX 5050 GPU, and everything is now working as expected. However, I had to use the open-source NVIDIA driver (thanks, Google Gemini). The current production driver didn't recognize the new 5000 series GPUs. Hopefully, they will be supported by the production version soon, and performance will remain stable.

I updated from 6.12.13 to 7 beta 4 with no issues.

Tower kernel: 5[23579]: segfault at... ...error 7...
Update: removed the ram and started installing one at a time in the primary slot and found the same error still occurring. I then updated to the latest kernel from thor2002ro and the error stopped showing up. I'm using the unofficial kernel for it's comparability with my Arc A380 GPU. I can't wait for unraid 7 to be officially released, primarily for the native intel Arc GPU support.

Thanks trurl. I should have known to attach the Diagnostics file after reading a number of posts in this forum. I look forward to any suggestions. tower-diagnostics-20241118-2109.zip

Tower kernel: 5[23579]: segfault at... ...error 7...
I just built my first unRAID server with all new parts other than storage. I recently saw a number of these lines in the system log under tools... The error message you've provided indicates a severe system crash, often referred to as a "kernel panic." This is a critical failure where the operating system's core functions have become unstable or corrupted. ...and listed a number of causes and suggestions. Being new to unRaid this sounds very concerning. What can I do to eliminate these errors in my system logs?
