Unraid Server Hanging Issue with ACPI Errors in Syslog
As Jorge mentioned, I believe ultimately this is a BIOS bug, but after going back and forth with ChatGPT for a couple hours today I was able to solve mine by moving the the GPU from slot 1 to slot 2 in the motherboard. Slot 1 is PEG0 and slow 2 is PEG1. PEG1 seems to be the issue everyone is having. Give it a go!

Upgrading from 6.12.10 to 7 - Stuck in Loop
I did not end up having enough time to commit trying individual modifications on the flash drive. But I’m happy to report that 7.1.2 upgraded just fine. Calling this resolved.

To clarify, blacklisting the i915 did not resolve the booting issue. So unless there's something else to try, I won't be able to use it until the new kernel?

The issue in the clean install was only during shutdown, unable to write to the syslog I believe. It booted fine, and everything short of the array (trial license) appeared to be in place. I've got no problem holding out for a while. Thanks for the support!

I've placed the blacklist, verified it's in place, and still hung at the same point. After some Googling, it might be worth mentioning I have a M.2 Coral TPU installed as well. Also, the shutdown lock up still persists.

Sorry, am I able to enter commands while the server is booting, or restore to backup, boot server and run in the command line? Also, wouldn't this prevent me from using my iGPU going forward? If so, is the end game to re-enable the driver after a successful boot in the new OS?

A clean install of Unraid 7 booted with no problems, but appears to lock up trying to shutdown. It never did end up shutting down, manual intervention required. I once again put a clean install of Unraid 7 on my flash and replaced the /config folder with my working backup. It's been hung in this state for roughly 30 minutes now.

Out of curiosity, will using the Unraid Trial blacklist a flash drive GUID? I’m looking to try the upgrade again tomorrow morning, but I’d like to keep my working flash drive intact and use my backup to put the clean install of Unraid 7 on. I just want to make sure that just using it for the “trial” (test to make sure it boots) won’t blacklist my backup flash drive in the event I need it. Thanks!

Upgrading from 6.12.10 to 7 - Stuck in Loop
I have not yet, admittedly I'm not too familiar with Linux and was pretty nervous. I had backed up my flash drive prior to performing the update. I shut down the server, removed the flash drive and copied the contents to my PC. I have restored my original 6.12.10 flash backup using the tool and the server is operational again, phew. Knowing that I can get everything operational and back as it was gives me peace of mind to try again. When you said recreate it using the USB tool, are you referring to a clean install of Unraid 7, or my original backup of 6.12.10? Assuming 7, if the clean install boots, would it be preferred to pull the /config folder from my original 6.12.10 backup or the attempted upgrade version? Also, are you able to extrapolate what exactly is hanging from my screenshot? Once I hear back, and I have another window of time to attempt it, I'll give it a go and report back. Thanks!
