    I have exactly the same issues. Passthrough SSD, get 3mb/s seq writes without passthrough i get about 0.3mb/s, sluggish GPU... All working fine with Windows direct.

     

    Anyone with a system working well, like jonp, maybe can try the same command?

    I will work out the fan issue tonight.

     

    Looks like i found that Bus 1 had one of the headers (didn't realise there are 3) but it means the ATEN KVM device gets lost there too, don't know if there is any negative effect. However, this causes extreme audio stuttering even with the MSI fix, so i had to revert. Looks like there is no way to pass through the USB bus of this board.

     

    GPU performance is improved over my previous PCI-E 2.0 8x slot with this board, achieving about 90-95% of non VM.

    I have bought this motherboard second hand, here are some observations:

     

    • The fans keep cycling unless i have them on full speed - have yet to resolve.
    • SCU works fine with my drives. I get 150mb/s parity checks and i have the whole thing fully loaded.
    • There are 2 USB controller groups, and all the ports are in the same group - very disappointed here.
    • It will not passthrough my Xbox 360 controller, it gives a "submiturb failed error -1 errno=28" constantly.
    • GPU passthrough works without "PCIe ACS Override" just fine!

     

    The USB controller groups really got me though, i expected more :(

     

    Anyone else have this board?

    Hey guys, i have taken the CPU/MOBO out of this fantastic 1U chassis and as i don't have space for it, i think it deserves a new home. If you're in the UK, even better, London, let me know if you are interested in this. It is USED, in case the pictures didn't do it justice :)

     

    It comes with a PCI-E 16x riser, the heatsink, PSU (SM 350W GOLD), fans, all its screws, the wind tunnel thingy.

    There is this also, a little pricier but has IPMI.

     

    Not sure how this board will handle IOMMU groups and USB split... which is my biggest pain point and headache with my current setup...

     

    Also you'd need a 2242 m.2 PCIE device which tops at 512GB for a big price hike.

    Pro tip:  instead of typing the path to where you want to create a vdisk in the webGui, just path to /dev/disk/by-id/YOURDISKHERE

     

    Yeah, that really does work...

     

    jonp, would there be a way to move the contents of an existing vdisk image directly onto a disk, change the location to said disk and boot up as normal? What's the config change and process, if it's possible? I have a 512GB SSD i'd like to use exclusively for that VM!
