Good lord, high price but look at these specs for an mATX board:

Sibling with no 10gbps:

Total of 16 drives from one mobo, can fit a nice GFX card here for your vitualisation needs... Throw in an E5-2603v3 in there and you're golden.
Thoughts, for the wealthy unRAIDer?

I might give the 8 bay one a go, it's pricey but probably the most appropriate at this point.
As an HTPC + unRAID combo case, it's ideal, especially now that we have virtualisation support.

This is amazing work from everyone and i look forward to trying it!
For us wanting to live on the bleeding edge, is there an easy way to switch to unstable builds?
-
I will agree, i have built 3 on the Q25B... and the Q26 is looking like an awesome one too.
I am looking for a tower/desktop case that will take a mATX mobo (as opposed to ITX) and has those fancy pull out drives.
-
This would be useful to know before upgrading as well
If Limetech use this motherboard in their builds hopefully we'll get some insight?
-
ironicbadger im also in the UK and looking for a case like this, or a tower one. Have you found anything else?
-
Would have a TVHeadend one, but we still need VT-d to pass the cards to a docker, correct?
-
Hey piotr, good work. I am guessing you can't do 5.0.5 anymore? I have a Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2.
-
Agree with Mettbrot!
Still can't compile 5.0.5 myself for some reason
-
@Mettbrot exactly, as it will be the last unRAID 5 build it might be good to have an image with all the drivers in there.
@piotrasd i will be using the stable channel, as long as the drivers are in 5.0.5 Thanks for trying!
-
Looks like there won't be a 5.0.6... is there a chance we can get one last 5.x compile? Thanks for your continued efforts guys.
I am moving to SAT>IP myself as soon as TVH starts working with it properly.
-
I'm not so sure because if you put a x16 card in, the rest are disabled, and the other slots are only x1..
-
badger: i'm an idiot, it's ok!
Yeah, we should find the ultimate motherboard for Xen + unRAID + GPU passthrough...
-
Wait, vPro has IPMI/KVM? I am such a loser, didn't research that beforehand... Does it work well?!
What mobo did you settle for in the end, still SuperMicro?
-
I'll probably go down the dummy plug route.
Sadly, i'm in the process of upgrading all my drives to 4TB, so that will be the priority for now. 4 more to go!
It would be good to see if there is a motherboard out there that will handle Xeon, IPMI, dual network ports, PCIE... Back to the research!
-
Badger, did you try SteamOS with it? What about connecting a one of these dummy plugs to the GPU? http://rumorscity.com/2013/12/06/how-to-create-dummy-plugs-for-your-graphics-cards/
My dreams have just been shattered, i realised the PCI-E slot on my M/B is only x8...
-
Right so tonight I tried Steams In Home streaming feature and it works well from my main PC to my Intel NUC. Very impressive!
Can someone with a GPU passed through to one of the VMs test and see if this works for them?
I have a Xeon E1230v3 on my SuperMicro X10SL7-F and, if the above works and performance is decent, I think i'll just need a GPU and i will have living room bliss!
If this can be done with SteamOS, oh my...
NVidia vs AMD?

Great news, here is the original thread:
http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=27800.0
I can say that ESXi does not let me pass through the second PCIE slot for some reason. I have a DVB card in there, doesn't even see it.
-
The torrent one is interesting, does mr-orange one do the same?
shat, why are you suddenly interested in torrents?
Considering you run phile.
-
@BobPhoenix, thanks for taking the time. I will try the card in another PC tomorrow. Very unfortunate as this hampers my dreams of the ultimate all-in-one server
-
I had to open my mouth... Just plugged a TV card into the x8 (x4) PCIe slot and i can't seem to be able to passthrough in ESXI. Any advice?
This is all i see. I have a card in the x16 (x8) slot already...
According to the manual, the PCH (Lynx Point) should support this PCIe slot.
-
Been on since the day i bought it. Both NICs working fine!
-
TVH has a native newcamd decoder built in so that works great.
Are the TBS cards plug and play in Ubuntu?! I've had a DVBSky S960 USB which is horrible.

I would also like to know this, especially point #2.
