  1. SATA III totally doesn't matter, since platter based drives don't even saturate SATA II.
  2. You can't have the front mesh covers on the CM590 with any of the hotswap cages. You can see how the Icy Docks look by looking at Tom's "Recession Buster" package that he offered awhile ago: http://lime-technology.com/products/rb-1200-server/93
  3. Actually, it thermally isolates the power supply, so it pulls cool air in, and then exhausts it out the back. If dust is a worry, you can always add a filter. Personally I still prefer this approach to using the PSU as a secondary cooling fan for the system as a whole. I'd love to see some testing and comparisons between the two though.
  4. Ah, got it.
  5. Some really nice builds in here. Seeing good cable management always prompts me to make more of an effort. One note though, I see several builds in the CM 590 case, which I also use. I notice that some of you have chosen to put your power supplies in "rightside up", with the intake fan facing into the case. It seems like it's more thermally efficient to face the PSU upside down, with the fan facing down at the bottom of the case. Since the CM case has an intake grill at the bottom, it seems to work quite well. Did you guys have a purpose in facing the PSU that way?
  6. How do the secondary SATA ports run on these? Are there any issues with them?
