  1. Hi I have the following warning in Tower/FixProblems. "Either your server has an extremely long uptime, or your syslog could be potentially being spammed with error messages. A reboot of your server will at least temporarily solve this problem, but ideally you should seek assistance in the forums and post your Diagnostics." When I reboot it is still 100% full, can anyone suggest what I need to do here. Thank you tower-diagnostics-20191027-1735.zip
  2. Can anyone help me with this please? I have googled it and searched forums and tried the suggestion from itimpi. I desperate to find a solution. thanks
  3. Thank you for your reply itimpi I copied 10 folders that contained music all from the artist Depeche Mode that was in a share called "Music" this share is across all my HDD's. I used Teracopy to transfer those folders to a single HDD (Disk 16) as I wanted to sort out duplicate files and perform a general tidy. So I highlighted the folders and selected copy. When the copy was complete unraid had created a share for each folder as I forgot to create a high level folder. When I tried to access my files with windows 7 I received the "stub" error message. I have attached a diagnostic file. I should be okay with command lines, I assume I can run them from my terminal attached to the server. Tower login: tower-diagnostics-20190820-1823.zip
  4. Can anyone suggest the next option for me please? I have run the New Permissions Tool on from the Tools Menu First just on the disc and shares that file transfers took place, no change Then on all discs and all shares, no change I have upgraded to the latest unraid version, still no change. I can access all my files through the web server but still have the stub issue on windows. Thank you
  5. Hi I have run the New Permissions Tool on from the Tools Menu (I ran ALL & ALL) and I still have the same issue. Should I do something else when the job is complete. The server has been stopped and restarted and I have restarted my PC.
  6. Yes I just realised.. Thank you Rebooting now as job is complete
  7. Solved I believe this was caused by a share issue on unraid as I copied some files from a share across all drives to a single disk which created a share for each folder I transferred. I moved the files within windows 7. I ran the "Docker Safe New Permissions Tool" which has solved this issue for some members (read thread) but did not help me. I could access all my files through web GUI, my iPad through file browser and if I opened a file through the web gui a file was created in my windows .temp folder. Plex could also access all my files on my windows pc's 7 & 10. After some more reading here I began to think that it had something to do with the way I moved the files. correct-way-to-move-files-between-shares/ I had another disk with nothing on so I opened a telnet session and moved all the folders from Disk 16 to Disk 17 mv /mnt/disk#/ /mnt/disk# This cleared all the additional shares created during the original transfer and soved the "Stub" issue. Version 6.5.3 2018-06-12 Hi I have a problem that I am not sure how to resolve and would appreciate it if someone could offer some advice. After copying some folders containing music from my music share to a single drive I am now receiving the error message on my windows 7 pc that i do not have the necessary permissions to access anything from my unraid machine and The stub received bad data. I cannot switch off unraid it counts up to 300 on the shutdown page and then fails to shut down. I have searched here and found a few posts on this but I don't understand it. For example. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/35115-solved-mystery-user-shares-amp-stub-received-bad-data/ I can access all my folders through the internet on my pc but not through "my computer" on my pc. I should have created a top level folder to place all the moved folders in but forgot, so unraid created an additional 10 shares as there is 10 folders with all the music in. I thought I would just have to simply moves all the folders into a top folder and the shares would disappear? Thank you
  8. It looks like I never added my second key. Formatted USB, copied across from 1st usb and put my second key in the config folder and everything works. Thank you for the support. Although I have to add that a second key seems pointless with all the usb backup and recovery options available now.
  9. So.. a few months later I try to update my second usb drive But in my config folder I don't have the pro.key or plus.key file Does anyone have any suggestions please? Edit - I have my original por 2 key on an email, could I paste that one in the config file. I have never used this usb so I probably never pasted the key into the config file. I'm assuming the key is still valid? Thank you

  11. i replaced hdd and when i rebooted unraid said it was doing parity and rebuild 2018-12-03, 05:24:4515 hr, 15 min, 2 sec91.1 MB/sOK errors 178771813 < Parity check and rebuild of new hdd
  12. Unraid 6.5.3 After replacing failed HDD with new hdd and rebooting a parity check and rebuild ran okay. I did have a considerable number of parity issues on two hdds when complete but everything looked okay. All files present. After running parity check again to correct errors I now have some issues i have not come across before. My replacement hdd shows that it has files 720gb used 1.28tb free. Original disk was 750gb. But i cannot access the files or see them. This seems to be the issue? "Dec 5 17:44:46 Tower kernel: REISERFS warning: reiserfs-5090 is_tree_node: node level 0 does not match to the expected one 1 Dec 5 17:44:46 Tower kernel: REISERFS error (device md14): vs-5150 search_by_key: invalid format found in block 27557505. 13. Thank you Squid, I will try that Well that sort of worked now plex cant see the unraid server. need to go do some reading. I had to delete the server on my pc and sign in on unraid server. virtually a fresh install. All is good now. Thanks for you suggestions
  14. I am trying to update my Plex. I'm running unraid 6.5.3 An update is ready but each time I try to install the update i get this message. 'Configuration not found. Was this container created using this plugin?' I have updated this Plex numerous times before with no issues and I'm not aware that I have changed anything. Can anyone offer any advice. Thank you
  15. Hi I have searched for a guide but cant seem to find a specific one? I purchased two licenses back in 2011 unraid 4.7 I think. I am currently on version 6.5.3 and would like to update my second USB to the same. This is my second flash drive. Is there an option to do this? Thank you
  16. Thanks Joe L. I tried the hdd on the mobo port and an mv8 card, the hard drive failed both times, power supply is single rail 650 watt so should be no issues there. I will run the seagate tool on the drive see what happens. Trouble is a 500gb hdd is hardly worth the postage cost to return it now
  17. I still have to retest this Seagate hdd which is a warranty return, Originally I ran this with two other pre-clears and everything ground to a halt and I had to reboot and i could not tell if the pre-clears finished on the other hdd's so I ran the pre-clear script on each drive individually. Should I bother to run a pre-clear on this hdd and will it just do the same again and fill up my ram untill the pc hangs. Thank you
  18. Nice! That case looks familar... How did you mount the top fan mount in the case? Mine is wedged in with rubber shims, but I'm thinking of drilling some holes as it's a bit loose. Funnily enough, I also decided a while back to move my Scythe 4-in-3s to my Sharkoon case as well, for a 22-drive machine, but I haven't got around to it, as it's going to be a big job. Does the case feel solid and sturdy, that's my only concern at the moment? And have you tried moving it? It's going to be very heavy with all those drives. I drilled holes for the top fan mount. I would say the case is fit for purpose. My son helped me move it downstairs. I used the scythe 4-3's to save money but i'm sure at some point in the future when I have to replace a hdd i will regret taking that course..
  19. Here is a link to the manufactures site http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/077/km03_detail.html All the info you need is there. The ultimate goal is to have temperature controlled fans and there is a thread regarding this here..http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5548.0
  20. Userpaul, it seems your rig has created a lot of envy which 8 port sata cards are you using? I myself am using the saslp-mv8 and they get quite hot. so, i was wondering where you got those fans that fit underneath the saslp? UPDATE: i found some in amazon.co.uk ( i live in europe using keywords: pci + fan) http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pci+fan&x=0&y=0 So i am just wondering if yours is silent? if yes i would rather buy the same type as yours than a fan about which i know nothing... I have the same cards as you I bought mine from the local Maplin store just up the road (impulse purchase). Whilst I was preclearing my HDD's I noticed that the saslp-mv8 cards got very very hot so I had a fan propped on the psu cooling them down. These are the fans. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=28679 Both fans are controlled with the Skythe fan speed controller and I have a temp sensor on each card. The fans reduce the temps of the cards by around 20 C The advantage of having the fans managed by the Skythe controller is I can strike a balance between fan speed and noise level. I would describe the noise level at maximum speed as irritating but not overly loud. I think fan noise can be a little subjective Ultimately I plan to install a small fan onto the heatsink and I am currently looking at kits to do that.
