  1. I currently have 5 3TB drives in my oldest UnRaid server, one of my drives has 7 as a UDMA CRC error count that seems to have added 1 to that count in a 2 week time and 1 as a Current pending sector that has not changed in the 2 weeks. I have a 4TB drive that can be dropped in, but I know this would need to become the Parity since it is the largest in the system. On to the question(s) How risky is doing a full new parity while that disk has these errors? (Should I hunt down a 3TB to not risk it?) Does it make any sense to move the parity to replace the drive with the errors when the parity drive has 5y and 4 days of up time? The SMART looks clean and I cannot afford to replace all 5 at this time but I can grab another 1 If it would be silly to go through the work of rebuilding on such an old drive (and replace the others as time goes on) Of note: There is nothing on there that I cannot live without that doesn't have redundant backup to an offsite location, but I'd rather not have to go that route. Thank you for your time
  2. I have a drive that is warning me of an Offline Uncorrectable Error the screen shows this: # Attribute Name Flag Value Worst Threshold Type Updated FailedRaw Value 197 Current pending sector 0x0032 200 200 000 Old age Always Never 1 198 Offline uncorrectable 0x0030 200 200 000 Old age Offline Never 1 199 UDMA CRC error count 0x0032 200 200 000 Old age Always Never 6 I have had an error in the past that spit out a ton of write errors, after reseating a cable that went away. I have a feeling this is different. I've included the SMART below. This is the "youngest" disc in the system, and the only one that had errors in the past that reseating a cable resolved. I don't want to toss out the disc if this is just an anomaly but I also would prefer not having a disc sitting in "pre-fail" Since the offline uncorrectable and the current pending are both just at one should I panic yet? 3. Sorry to resurrect a long dead thread, did you ever get that invite? If not shoot me an message!
  4. I apologize for the massive delay. Other than the "lipstick" currently it works identical. All of my apps work perfectly. I do not have Sonos, but the Libresonic setup (and the Git) both say it works. The only thing that doesn't work is having a XXX.libresonic.com custom URL. I just created a NOIP.com free URL and use that for all my redirect needs.
  5. Sadly, I was dead in the water. I agree with you that it is odd that it's a hardware thing since mine worked on the plugin but not on the docker as well. What I did do that "fixed" my issue is I switched from the Subsonic Docker to the LibreSonic Docker, works fine from within there as well. Plus LibreSonic is still being updated whereas SubSonic switched to a close source business model so there won't be another major update on it. (From what I have read)
  6. Sadly, no. I ended up just creating two profiles on the iPhone subsonic app I use and switching between them. The subsonic URL for when I'm outside my network and my IP address when I'm within.
  7. I actually read that post while my first drives were doing their preclear. I did heed your advice when it comes to all personally created data (offsite). I do not have redundancy on anything I did not create. I consider any loss of that data an acceptable risk and I have accepted that I lost it today. Oh, and you can let me have it, even on Christmas, if someone clicks on my post and follows your link and creates backups then it's a good deed. CHMBM Congrats on quitting! It's a hard road but one that is worth it and you've gotten through what I felt was the hardest part. Strike, I'm glad you liked that app, I forgotten I had it, it's one of those things that I ran so I could search quickly for items but don't have many times when I need it, until today! Thank you for posting the link, I hadn't made it back to my computer until now.
  8. Figure I'd post a quick update... of course if people follow the advice of Squid (which they should) they won't need this but I had run a program called Cathy to catalog all of my media, I was able to find that and use it to (I hope) rebuild what I lost. The freeware program is written by a guy named Robert Vasicek and it is a very quick little media catalog tool that I had forgotten about until just now. I was unsure about linking to external sites on here but if it is OK I will come back and add the URL to his site.
  9. I do have redundant off-site backup for my personal documents and photos (after my Lacie NAS cooked it's MB and all data was irretrievable), it's for the stuff that I could get again in theory that I do not...sadly of all the "I could get it again" the folder I deleted is the most difficult, mostly because I don't remember what all is in there.
  10. Thank you, I will be adding that... they have not been able to chart the depth of my stupidity, I'm sure this will happen again.
  11. I should learn not to do file management while tired. I was moving files from my windows system to the server and thought the folder I was moving from was highlighted and I hit delete. I have now deleted a rather large directory on the server. Is there any way to recover these files? If not is there any way to see what files were deleted so I can see if there is a way to get them again? I understand I brought this fully upon myself, and if it's gone forever it's a learning experience like no other... Thank you in advance
  12. Been reading up and it seems like DNS Splitting might be a work-around anyone have any experience with that? been looking at dnsmasq and this page http://shorewall.net/SplitDNS.html seems to say it is possible but I'm unsure of how UnRAID is currently handling lookup from the hosts file. Would this work? Would this break anything?
  13. Thank you for that, I had never heard the term NAT Loopback before. Sadly my router doesn't support that. Is this an issue that was only revealed due to docker? When I was using Unraid 5.0.5 with subsonic I did not have this problem. On the Serviio app (as you know) I can choose the bound IP address from within the WebGUI and when that is set to 192.168.1.X (Unraid IP, eth0) it runs great. This is my first venture into Docker and I don't want to screw anything up but is this something I could pass an extra parameter to like --bind 192.168.1.X (unraid IP)
  14. Any guidance on what setting on the router might be stopping it at the Docker IP and not continuing on? I have port forwarding for :4040 to my unraid box
  15. I'm attempting to use the iSub app on my Iphone with Subsonic on UnRaid 6.0.0 and am having an odd issue: Everything was working correctly when using the plugin for UnRaid 5.0.5 If I am on LTE it connects to xxx.subsonic.org just fine If I connect to my wireless network it hangs If I change the server IP to 192.168.x.xxx:4040 on ISub then it will connect while on my wireless (obviously won't connect when I'm not) To remove ISub from the equation I attempted to connect within safari: If on LTE it bounces me to my Global IP address and I get a login screen If on Wireless it bounces me to 172.17.0.X (this changed after a reboot) I understand this is the IP the docker is binding to but any guidance on to how to get beyond that to either the Global or the server IP? I've already attempted both network types (bridge and host)
  16. That looks like it fixed it! I'm doing the parity sync now. I'm going to make sure I keep a copy of my serial numbers now...won't make this mistake again. Thank you so much for your time!
  17. Hello, There was a massive mess-up on my part and I ended up wiping some files from the memory stick. I have reformatted the stick and reinstalled Unraid (Seizing the opportunity to update to 5.05 and to install a better network card) but now that that is back up and the network is identified I have a question. How do I reassign my drives? in the past SDB was Parity SDC Was Drive 1 SDD Was Drive 2 and SDE was Cache. Now the SDE is easy to identify because it's an SSD but IF i did not move any cables inside my computer is it safe to assume that the other three are still the same? Once I get this up and running again I'll screen shot the assign page so I have the serial numbers matched up but that won't help me this time. Also if I reassign them where do I go from there? Sorry to bug you all with my amateur mistake... Thanks --Aaron
  18. WalterB That worked it! Thank you so much. Now I can use the Intel gigabit card in my primary system finally bringing my network up to gigabit. Thank you to everyone who helped me out. I can't wait until I'm more profecient and can start helping others as well. This community is one of the major selling points for unRAID.
  19. After a day of running around chasing my tail I am ready to admit defeat and purchase a NIC to install. I was looking at The Intel EXPI9301CTBLK ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106033 ) which seems to have the 82574L chipset I have looked around and seen some problems with this one on the forums but it seems they were in the past and mostly with people who had multiple NICs they wanted enabled at the same time. I just want to make sure before I "Pull the trigger" that this will work with 5.0 Stable. Any advice?
  20. EDIT: The problem was solved in the original thread in general help. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29571.0 This originally started out in a thread in general help as to why my eth0 was not being recognized. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=29571.0 I got some great advice pointing me to the driver I needed: http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/networking/alx as well as how to set up the compiling environment: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_VirtualBox_in_unRAID I was able to set up the compile environment successfully as well as run: ./scripts/driver-select alx which created the makefiles I needed but when I attempt to run make I get *** No Rule to make target 'modules'. Stop. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thank you, Aaron
  21. ok, I decided to just start over and just add the compiling environment and am running into a problem: I've gotten to the point of typing: ./scripts/driver-select alx make The first bit completes OK the second part though gives me an error *** No Rule to make target 'modules'. Stop. Any advice? Should I move this to the user customization forum? I did a search and found someone who said he fixed this problem, but in the link he posted I had zero luck parsing out how.
  22. Thank you for the advice on building the drivers... I believe I might have taken the "Installing VirtualBox" instructions too far... Was I supposed to end as soon as I finished with the installpkg steps that added make and gcc, etc... ? If I went too far (to the point of : $ make oldconfig && make should I just start over and just do the build environment?
  23. Yes nic is enabled... The more I poked around the more it seems the lx3 version is NOT the one people were using in their builds. I'll run out and grab a NIC this weekend if there doesn't seem to be an easy resolution. Thank you, Aaron
  24. Is there a live distribution you recommend? Would something like Slackware Live (LiNomad) be OK? Unfortunately I will not be able to run it until tomorrow (the AM comes way too early) but I will post results at that time. Thank you for your response, --Aaron
