  1. i think i may be plugged into the usb3 ports on the system board. i will order a usb2 system board header to port adapter to make sure its good.
  2. thank you for the quick replies! When my flash crashed last year I used what I had to get the array back online, its a usb 3 Kingston drive, which i understand usb 2.0 is recommended. previous to this i ran an 8gb usb3 microcenter cash register special which lasted 6 years! I went ahead and ordered 2 of the usb 2.0 DTSE9 metal drives, while i wait for those, i will try to fix the current flash, and in the future will always try to time my downtime to Pacific Standard Time 🤣
  3. i was noticing some odd behavior on unraid, (my custom tower picture was half loaded like a corrupt image) some dockers have "?" icons and no controls to enter the webUI (they are both still working) i rebooted the server, and got the error USB flash drive failure, alert USB drive is not read-write. normally this would not be a super huge deal, i have backups however i had my flash crash last September 9th the log is being filled with - Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries) Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries) Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries) Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries) Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries) Jul 22 09:19:53 Data kernel: FAT-fs (sda): error, corrupted directory (invalid entries)
  4. there is now a mesh central docker posted in community apps, when clicking the support thread it links to a webpage and not an actual support thread. has anyone gotten this working?
  5. thank you, i will try this when i am back from the office.
  6. i am in the same boat, is there any way to tell which drive is the cache drive? i have 2 of the same largest drives.
  7. bump. i am having the same issue. i have unraid hosted in esxi and have multiple other VMs that can access my unraid share but not one that is server2008r2. as with the others i can ping it, i can even launch the conslole with chome/firefox but i cant get to the network share. i have tried all the suggestions in the thread to no avail.
  8. I'm not remoting in. I am using esxi as a workstation. I ended up ordering a cheap usb3 card from amazon that I passed through without issue. When people use the PC they don't even realize everything that is going on behind the scenes.
  9. my unraid usb key does work.. i may try and downgrade to 5.0 if its not too much of a pain.
  10. hello everyone! posting here to hopefully get some help for esx gurus! i am trying to setup esx as a desktop using pci passthrough so far i got my video card and sound card (and sas card to unraid) to pass through without issues. the problem i am running into is i cant get the keyboard and mouse to pass through successfully. when i try and add a usb device the only thing i see is a usb stick (that is connected through a usb hub) if i try and pass through one of my usb controllers i get an error inside the windows 7x64 vm "code 10 unable to start" if my only option is to buy a 1x pcie usb card are there any cheap options out there that are tested to work with esx 5.x is there a way to "unfilter" the usb devices attached to the machine so i can just add the keyboard and mouse to the vm. in the future i plan to add another video card to connect to a tv for media use. system specs: asrock z87 extreme4 i7 4770 power color radeon 6450 Supermicro MV8 thanks, -Chris
