I'm using a 6 HDD array (ReiserFS) + 1 parity in unRAID 6.3.2 without plugins or dockers. Can I shutdown and replace the unRAID 6.3.2 USB with unRAID 5.0.5 USB, then assign the same slots and parity? I plan to use my unRAID 6.3.2 USB for a new system in the future.

I'm not sure which toolset you're using but in principle you need: sas2flsh.exe -l eraselog.txt -o -e 6 to erase the card (megarec is probably not working anymore once the card is on P20) and then sas2flsh.exe -l Flashlog.txt -o -f 2118it.bin to flash the firmware. If I remember correctly, there is an option to erase only the BIOS (must be another number than 6) but I have no time to search right now. I'm using the P11 firmware provided from this forum. I have successfully flashed my new IBM m1015 to IT mode. I used the default bat steps which included the mptsas2.rom . If I don't want the rom now , which step do I need to re-do , do I need to start from the beginning as in 1.bat and so forth?

I read somewhere that the IBM M1015 gets quite warm. What are the limits in Celcius before required to add a fan? Is there a tool to monitor the chip on the card?

Hi Fireball3, Which would be easier to flash to IT for Unraid 6, between H310 vs M1015? I have a few old mobos that are all non-UEFI to carry out the flashing. Its going to be my first purchase of a SAS card to replace an old Syba PCIe 1x card.

My Unraid 6.1.2 seems to be working fine. When I decided to check on the syslog I found numerous ACPI errors. I wonder is these need to be rectified or maybe negligible? syslog.txt

I'd like to check an old HDD for bad sectors. I read somewhere that modern harddisks has spare areas to automatically replace any bad sectors. Can preclear find bad sectors and permanently avoid them in future writes? Or use other softwares for that?
