  1. Hi Alex, thanks for your reply. I tried the with the new version this morning, and it has been running for a couple of hours. The disks spun down at around 7:05. After almost 2 hours. But it's still restarting a lot of times before that. Attached a file with log. I used to have a Windows HTPC with 4GB RAM, now using LibreELEC with 1GB. So I think im actually using less RAM now. And with cache pressure 0 The server "should" crash before releasing any memory. Sorry but I can't test the memory script right now, I'm not by my server so a crash would not be optimal, but i can try later tonight. I had 1.6.9 on my flash already, so i probably used that one! Started the scrip with "cache_dirs -p 1 -S -i media -u -U 0 -d 6" I'll get back with results! Edit: After running 1.6.9 for a cuple of hours, its acting exactly the same. So the problem is not from within cache_dirs. But is there anything in the newer unraid versions that could interact with cache_dirs? No times in this log, but seems to be restarting as well. This log is from when it's been running for more than 1h. 2. I'm afraid it's not working. I meant that there is no difference between now, after reinstall and before, the disks never goes to sleep while cache_dirs are running with 200K files. As i wrote in the reply below. JoWe
  3. I'm on 2.2.2 as well, i have just reinstalled and restarted the server, but after a couple of hours it seems to be no difference at all.
  4. First of all, I have been using this plugin for years, and it has been working great, there used to be more than 200K files in the share that i try to cache. Has been working until the problems with it not starting with the system. (I think) I did the same this night but increased the depth to 6 and with 200K files, the disks has not spun down a single time over the whole night. If i disable the plugin the disks spin down in 15min. JoWe cache_dirs_diagnostics.zip
  5. Yes i know that, and don't "blame" cache_dirs for thoose spin ups. JoWe
  6. Hi, I have been testing the last couple of days, and it seems that cache_dirs works, but the disks spin up much more frequent than before. I just started a windows explorer without opening any files, and it spun up 3 disks. So from what i can tell latest windows updates/versions are to blame for some of the spinning up disks. Then, there is something else as well, during this night the disks spin up, and looking at the times, some of them might be random, but most of them come at :00, :15, :30, I have tried cache_pressure 0, and the total memory consumption lies around 60% (out of 16GB). It has never hung the system. The logs are attached! It seem the disk goes to sleep much more often with the plugin disabled. 7. Hi, thanks for your reply Alex. I have tried a lot of settings, but the disks never go to sleep. Increasing timeouts adaptive/fixed and so on. Right now it's running these settings below, and if i understand the log correctly it should increase the "Disks idle before/after" But it's at 1s all the time. If I disable the plugin, the disks go to sleep as they should. With thees settings it doesn't seem to timeout at least. 9. I just installed a WS 2016. Used OVFM Bios, and after installing drivers for the display adapter i can change resolution. Shouldn't be a problem.
  10. Had the same problem here, (ASUS Z87-C Mobo). Only option is to disable xHCI controller. Then the ports are separated. All internal ports to one controller, and all external +internal USB3 header to another. I'm thinking of getting a PCIe-x1 add on card, and when i do i see that there are a couple with 2 extra SATA ports. The question now... Will I be able to pci stub the usb controller on such a card? And still use the SATA ports for unRAID? The SATA controller and USB controller will end up on the same IOMMU group, right? At least its working now, had problem with my Logitech keyboard disconnected from VM when forwarding as device. Also the IR dongle for remote disconnected now and then. And had alot of usb resets in log. JoWe
  11. And it would also be nice to label the fans, like Cage1 Cage2 etc.
  12. Is it possible to have more than one array_fan showing in Dynamix System Temp plugin? I have 3 5in3 disk cages with one PWM fan to each Cage. Showing all 3 fans in lower right corner would be great! JoWe
  13. I had a similar problem with a GT 610 card. I could only get the VM to start if i started it with unRAID, and after that i couldn't restart it. Blank screen on TV. I cant remember if i could reach it on the network though. Tried to update bios on GPU but there was nothing new. So im using an old AMD card now. JoWe
  14. Hi, I dont have this problem, i installed my VM OE 6.0.0 from the generic guide. 1 cpu core and 1GB mem. The things that take time is if i browse in library mode, and start a movie, the disk needs to spin up. And then i pause the video to change resolution for 6-7sec. (The Samsung TV is so slow to change!) But after that everything is good, i can jump FFW or RWD with less than a sec delay. My files are packed in rar. so it need to unpack on the fly as well. I´m using SMB shares on my "tower". JoWe I can't understand why I am having this problem. SMB here for me also. Using the same exact install method, v5.0.8 works fine but v6.0.0 exhibits this behavior. I think I will try with a local MKV to rule out an SMB or MySQL issue. John I thought about a setting, under settings, video, playback. "Skip delay" it´s set to .750ms default. But ju can set a delay up to 3sec. But maybe thats just Jarvis, cant remember if its present in Isengard as well? Can you try to load your media from somewhere else? just to try? I´m using all IP addresses when adding sources, MY SQL settings. edit: Have you tries Jarvis? I´ve tried this. http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=238393 But cant get HD audio to work ok, it has a delay with DTS HD. Or ahead if it´s TrueHD. So im using a Win10 with latest Jarvis now.
  15. +1 on the iPhone app to manage my VMs. There is a KVM Remote on appstore, but if i understand correctly, I cant use that with unRAID? JoWe
  16. Same here, MariaDB shared SQL, and thumbnails on unraid share. Everything on Cache, 4xSSD in RAID10.

  18. Yes, but not anymore. Will it be easier to update the img when 6.2 is released?
  19. I missed that you needed this line in XML, when i did it started ok, but my remote stoped working. So i installed the Generic Openelec. And now its all good!
  20. You are using the LT OE template? If so, you can't upgrade the way you normally would (copying SYSTEM and KERNEL files to the Update folder) because the official version does not have the tweaks needed to run OE in KVM. You will need to wait until LT releases a template that is updated to 6.0 final. Im copying the .img file earlier in this thread. OpenELEC-unRAID.x86_64-6.0.0.img And i tried both the one with all GPUs and the first one without all GPUs. It´s on the TV with the unraid/openelec logo. I tried to install a new VM, same error, changed to beta3, and checked logs. But all entries are from 5.95.3 JoWe
  21. I tried to upgrade to OpenELEC-unRAID.x86_64-6.0.0.img But i get an error "can ?t access tty job control turned off" I tried both to just replace the file and use the old .img name. Then edit the XML with the new filename. but same error. Any ideas? Do i need to change the UUID of the temlate?
  22. After having contact with Asus support, the card i have cannot be updated (GT610-SL-1GD3-L). So theres probably not much more to do than replace the GPU. JoWe
  23. Yes its off by default, i always enable it and pause video for 6sec when the TV changes refresh rate, i think it gives a smoother picture. I found this bug report, maybe it could be same as your problem? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75064 Will we ever be done with WIN=
  24. If you disable "Adjust Refreshrate to match video" will that get you HD Audio? JoWe
  25. I had this problem a couple of years ago. I dont know if it´s still the same, but when i had the problen, it was the drivers in Linux for Radeon that didnt support DTS-HD and Dolby True HD. I tested my Radeon card in Windows and it worked. I ended up buying a Geforce GT 610. (That i now have problems with rebooting the VM, but HD audio works fine in my 9.1 surround system)
