@Encino Stan, do you have this error for every disc?  Are you using the default container settings?

I am using the default settings. I do get that error if I get the chance to click the "Make MKV" button. Half the time I get errors (same error I think, will have to check) during the open disc operation. There is about a 50/50 chance I have of reading a disc successfully, and the same disc may work one time and fail another.  One disc opened and had only one title that was 8 minutes. It skipped the < 2 min titles as expected, but I didn't see the 1.5 hr title.

I am wondering if I have an issue with my drive, ASUS BW-16D1X-U.  I will install MakeMKV on my Win10 box and try there.

What drives are people having good luck with (preferably external).

This usually happens when you have used a port that is already in use.

OK. Seems that I get that error if I restart the container to soon after stopping. Maybe I don't give it time to release the ports. If I wait before starting (after a stop), then I don't get that error.

Also, is your cache pool full?

Cache has 298 GB free. I do see the SSD drive lights flashing when running the program.

I was going to say that Execution Error occurs as soon as restarting container, but just now started fine.

I am going to try another DVD and report what it does...

.. OK. Read the DVD and selected just main title and only english audio and subtitles. 2018-08-10_1.png

The application version is too old. Please downlaod the latest version at http://www.makevkv.com/ or enter registration key to continue uing the current version.

Is this a known issue that will resolve itself when the beta key gets updated or do I have something wrong?

Would registering a key solve this? (And I don't see where to purchase a key.)

Is there a way to have multiple domain ? Like domain1.com and domain2.com with some subdomain ?

I can configure it manually (already done in fact), but I can I'm not sure about the CertBot to make a renew the cert ?

    Thanks !

Hello, getting a strange message that I don't recall seeing when running extended tests:

Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/share.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/fix.common.problems/include/tests.php on line 1706

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and still get the error?

I am getting the same when running regular scan ...
Warning: parse_ini_file(/boot/config/share.cfg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/fix.common.problems/include/tests.php on line 1706

    line 1706 of test.php is "    $iniFile = parse_ini_file("/boot/config/share.cfg",true);"

    Confirmed that /boot/config/share.cfg doesn't exist.

...this docker contains all necessary dependencies already (Redis, PostgreSQL, Nginx etc.)...

Newbie question. If I already have Nginx and a database running in separate docker containers, does that change this install?

For example, would I need PostgreSQL running in this container if I already have MariaDB running in it's own container?

Personally, I'm a fan however setting static IP's within the router and keeping all the computers set to DHCP

On 3/15/2017 at 5:42 PM, SnickySnacks said:

The one problem with setting the IP static locally (without using the router) is that the router may try to assign the address via DHCP to another computer and you end up with two devices with the same IP. I believe this might happen if non-static computer A came up, got the IP address, then static computer B came up and tried to use the same address.

Option 1: Set the static IP to an address outside the pool of addresses the router uses

Option 2: Set the static IP on the router

Personally, I tend to prefer option 2, since it lets me keep track of all my static IP devices from one location (the router) rather than needing to keep track of what has been assigned where, externally.

Of course, if your router has a pool that starts at like 192.168.1.1, setting unraid to .250 or something is usually pretty safe as it would be rare for enough clients to be on the network to request that high.

I like having each device use DHCP and assign static addresses in the router. That way if the router has to change, or if the device is moved to another environment, then everything still works.

    Additionally...

I assign the static addresses with the 4th subnet starting with '1'. (192.168.1.1xx),

but I have my router assign dhcp from a pool from 201-249 (192.168.1.2xx)

That way I can tell from a glance if I have missed assigning a device or there is a 'guest' device on my lan.

  11. I think you must have a defective 32GB Ultra Fit.

That maybe true, but if it is then ...

    (a) there are several defective ones out there, the OP and others that have posted the exact same symptoms with this chip, and

    (b) the only problem I had was with UnRAID. Used the same drive for DOS booting and loading firmware and BIOS with no issues. Ran several diagnostics against it and all say good.

Main point is OP's statement of "Avoid using San Disk Ultra Fit USBs with UNRAID !!!" appears to only apply to the 32GB (and up?) drives and may be dependent on MB and BIOS used.

  12. Did you do EXACTLY this:

    (a)  Reformat the flash - choosing FAT32 - and label it "UNRAID"  (note caps)

    (b)  Copy the UnRAID v6.1.3 distributions files to the flash drive

©  Right-click on MakeBootable.bat and select "Run as Administrator"

    (d)  Safely remove the flash drive [using the Safe Remove icon in the tray]

    (e)  Try it in your UnRAID server.

Yep! Exactly that (just tried again to be sure).

  13. It'd be interesting to see if the 32GB works okay if you (a) formatted it on a PC, and then (b) ran the MakeBootable script on a PC as well.

This may simply be an issue with doing the prep on a Mac vs. a PC.

That is the way I did it the first time, before someone else suggested formatting on Mac and I wandered down the rabbit hole of every combination I could think of.  I also considered trying different versions of UnRAID and different versions of syslinux.exe.

  14. Just for the heck of it if you have a Mac available or know somebody with one, try formatting the flash on the Mac.

Somewhere in my search early on I found something in a PC forum that Macs did a better job of formatting Fat/Fat32 than the PCs.

Strange but it is worth a shot.

Motherboard is SuperMicro X10SL7-F, BIOS R 3.0. I tried the 32GB flash in the onboard USB 3 Type-A header (on motherboard), a USB 3 case port (via MB header), a USB 2 case port (via MB header), and the USB 2 ports on the backpanel of the MB. Tried all these ports with the SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB formatted as FAT32 on a Mac Airbook, also tried formatting FAT32 with Ubuntu LTS 14.04.  All with same results.

    /dev/disk search by label failing

    Unable to access Unraid GUI

Then copied the files from the 32GB drive to a 16GB SanDisk Ultra Fit. OS boots and runs.

It maybe specific to the  SuperMicro X10SL7-F running BIOS R 3.0, but there is something definitely wrong with the SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB. (Not going to buy a 64GB and try it, just going to ebay the 32GB.)

  15. I think it depends on the motherboard/bios and USB port.

I use the 64GB Sandisk Ultra fit with a supermicro X10SL7-F

    WeeboTech,

I have the X10SL7-F. Can you try the 64GB Sandisk Ultra Fit on a USB 3 port? Ideally, I would like to use the port on the motherboard itself, not one on the backplane. Also, what version of UnRAID are you using?

I guess I need to know what version of BIOS you are using also. My X10SL7 is using R 3.0 x10sl75_424.

  16. I've also read about a few issues with the UltraFit 32GB => but I thought they were resolved by reformatting it.

I reformatted several times. Doesn't help. My searching shows that others solved it by using another drive. I wish I knew this before spending money on a SanDisk Ultra Fit 32GB drive. It was only a few dollars more than the 16GB, but now I have to additionally buy a 16GB. I already had other drives that I could have used, I specifically purchased the Ultra Fit because I liked that it was "so small there's virtually no chance of accidental damage by 'bumping' it  (and really nice for on-motherboard ports)."

I am not sure why, but after trying another USB drive it now works. I bought a new SanDisk Ultra Fit specifically for this, but looks like I will just use one older one I had lying around... The one I am using now is 1GB....

I should have checked this much sooner, but apparently my new USB drive was the problem (SanDisk Ultra Fit™ CZ43 32GB USB 3.0).

I found an old POS USB from my wife's work and it booted no problems, but now I have this hanging out the back of my pretty Fractal R4 case.

Thanks, had this exact problem with that Sandisk Fit USB stick and was pulling my hair out for days trying to figure out how to install Unraid (6beta12) for the first time.  Different usb stick worked wonders. I should also mention that this is quite insidious as Unraid still boots fine, but the flash drive never mounts, so all your settings are never saved and the web GUI doesn't come up automatically because there is no go script mounted.  Really tough to debug if you've never used Unraid before.

I would like to reiterate the statement, "this is quite insidious as Unraid still boots fine, but the flash drive never mounts, so all your settings are never saved and the web GUI doesn't come up automatically because there is no go script mounted.  Really tough to debug if you've never used Unraid before." As a newbie doing Unraid for the first time, this was a bug that took a many hours of research to solve. And since the flash is never mounted, there is no way to copy the syslog to it and have it persist on another PC.

  17. I'm using one in my server #2 an also used it in server #1 without issue ....

Russ, please confirm exactly which 'one' you are using. I believe the only one with issues is the Ultra Fit 32GB (and maybe larger). Your sig only states the 16GB, which (I believe) is the one that limetech said they are using.

I have a 16GB Ultra Fit on order, should get here Tue. If it works, I am willing to loan my 32GB to Lime Technology for debugging research.
