    On Setup|Basic Setup

    * Enable DHCP server

    * Enable DNSMasq for DHCP

     

    On Services|Services

    * Set Used Domain to "LAN & WLAN"

    * Set LAN Domain to some value (e.g., "OurLANd")

    * Under Static Leases

    - Click "Add" to get one or more new row(s)

    - Enter the MAC Address, Host Name, and IP Address in each blank row

    - (Important) Scroll down and click "Apply Settings"

     

    You can reboot or power cycle the router, or just wait for the old leases to expire and the new, static IP assignments to take hold. Either way, go to Status|LAN to see the lists of Active and DHCP clients.

    Okay I believe this suggestion has made it so I can see my server with host name and access it with a hostname.  Have no idea why though

     

    I am still have some trouble with getting my one android box to update it libary.

     

    I really want to put a big thanks for all that replied at this point.  Think we may say this is solved

    The domain master = yes was from another internet suggestion that did not seem to help

     

    Should I remove it?

     

    Turl I do have that App installed and it tells me Tower is master

    Did a full shut down and power back up as recomended :( no fixy

     

    My UNRAID server set to be master

     

    I am really struggling with this I do not understand how NSLOOKUP works but I can no t pint the hostname.

    Howdy

     

    Scratching my head on this and need some guidance

     

    My DSL Modem/Router was replaced with a DSL Modem in bridge mode and we just installed a TPLink router

     

    For some reason I can no longer access my server smb shares via \\tower or the GUI setup

     

    I can how ever access stuff using the IP

     

    C:\Users\smiths>nslookup tower

    Server:  DD-WRT

    Address:  192.168.1.1

    Name:    tower

    Address:  192.168.1.28

    C:\Users\smiths>nslookup osmc

    Server:  DD-WRT

    Address:  192.168.1.1

    Name:    osmc

    Address:  192.168.1.103

     

    I am unable to ping the hostnames though

     

    This has cause some trouble as it somehow affects my access to my shares with my TV to set boxes and I no longer see Tower in Network places of my windows machine not sure why.

     

    Need some guidance on this one

    Did you use Community Applications - Previous Apps to reinstall your dockers?

     

    Was the config (appdata?) stored on your cache? Maybe you still have a problem with the drive. Post diagnostics.

     

    1-  I used Community Applications - Previous Apps to reinstall yes

    2-  Yes my appdata was on my cache.  My other dockers seem to be functioning okay after docker nuke and reinstall

    Well I went ahead and used the xfs_repair -L /dev/sdb1

     

    The Shares seem to be back but there seems to be some issues with dockers so going to delete docker.img and go from there

     

    Few questions though

     

    1.  What pointed you to tell me to use the xfs_repair -v /dev/sdb1 command?

    2.  How do I tell how much data was lost if any using the -L

    3.  How do i stop this from happening again

    I did a scan disk on USB drive -- No errors found

    I deleted share.cfg and individual .cfg and restarted -- didnt do anything andserver didnt recreate share.cfg.  Not sure here if I had to turn shares off and turn them back on .

     

    Would like to do this

     

    Don't run New permissions against all the drives if you use docker applications.  You can mess up some of the apps due to that script changing the permissions.  If you need to change / reset permissions, either exclude the cache drive, or install Fix Common Problems plugin and run the Docker Safe New Permissions tool instead (identical to the standard script, but will exclude your appdata locations AND CA backups of appdata)

     

    But not sure how to run the Docker Safe New Permissions -- Found this in tools and it did not have any affect on my problem

     

    Also just set my cache only shares to use cache drive "no" and received this error

     

    Event: Fix Common Problems

    Subject: Errors have been found with your server.

    Description: Investigate at Settings / User Utilities / Fix Common Problems

    Importance: alert

     

    **** Default docker appdata location is not a cache-only share ****  **** Share appdata set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive ****  **** Share downloads set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive ****  **** Community Applications not set to auto update ****  **** This plugin (Fix Common Problems) not set to auto update ****

     

    Kinda freaking out

    Not sure if this helps move in a direction to fix but when I select disk shares to yes they all show up as exportable shares.

     

    I can access all five of my disks without a password but when I try to access my cache drive if prompts for a password an will not allow me to access.

     

    The cache drive is where all my app data is and docker image

    Hello All

     

    Just got home from a trip and my spouse mentioned that she could not see movies in Kodi

     

    When I logged into the server all the dockers where stopped and in my Shares there where none

     

    Running 6.2.1 I believe and server was running

     

    Restarted and Rebooted still no Exportable Shares present

     

    When I explore the disks in the array I can see the share folders.  Also on the flash drive I can find the .cfg files for each share folder

    Opps been caught a few times being lazy this week my bad again

     

    EDIT 3: I set the below to 2 in guisettings.xml to prevent addon updates, better now

    Hello

     

    Going through some hicups with my setup and noticed an Error in the log after start up

     

    Its repeating every few seconds

     

     

    Oct 1 08:07:30 Tower kernel: kodi.bin[12111]: segfault at 7a8 ip 000055e25a7dc277 sp 00002b5c95e9f750 error 4 in kodi.bin[55e25a060000+201c000]

     

    Just wondering if I need to action this or not.
