  1. I have the OpenVPN-AS docker installed on my server. What are the benefits to using this plugin over my current setup? I had one hell of a time getting everything set up with the docker, as there is no generating a cert or anything. Is this a pretty simple setup?
  2. I did get this fixed by playing with the TCP/IP settings
  3. Hey guys, I just did the Windows 10 upgrade as I figured I better at least get the free license. First my mouse quit working after the install completed, so I found a workaround by sdwitching to using Edge browser. I still cannot get the internet working. It says I am connected to wired notwork, but unidentified. I am not sure if it is a virt IO issue or what. Can someone provide a little help? Looks like I am the only one that has experienced this.
  4. I am willing to bet it is a hardware issue, CPU specifically.. I had issues with unRAID freezing up on my server, and losing access to the webGUI also. I also would get a kernel panic error while booting about 1 in 3 boots. This started happening after I put a different CPU in the motherboard I was using, and it quit when I just put a new board and CPU in it. I could confirm because the kernel panic error was occurring while loading some CPU settings. Without you giving any details as to where it is freezing during PC startup, I can't say for sure.
  5. Wait, I see what you are saying.. I was referring to the connectivity test. It will not work for me but everything seems to be fine other than that.
  6. Sweet deal, thanks man. I am able to connect over the internet from my phone to the admin account and i have internet access so it seems like everything is working, although I cannot connect to server from the web interface. I am not going to worry and Ill test it out from my laptop later on. Thanks again!
  7. So basically, I can use the unsigned certificate then and it will still be secure?
  8. I have mine all set up finally and am able to connect locally, but can anyone direct me where to figure out how to get the certificates working right? No matter where I try to connect from, or even the web client tells me the site is not signed and give me certificate errors. In order to use this docker, do I need to download openssl and go through all that to generate a certificate? Isn't there a newb guide to this? I have gone through all the openvpn docs and it all seems like so much just to get a simple tunnel going.
  9. Okay gotcha, the power supply is new and I have an M5a99 Pro I'm gonna put in when FX8350 shows up Tuesday. I'm hoping it's hardware issues rather than unraid itself but I will know for sure when I swap out my board and cpu this week. I do have new memory to go along with the upgrade so we will see.
  10. I will do that Squid, but why do you suspect that? It looks to me like the error is occurring in the lines relating to my CPU. I am just curious what these lines mean and how exactly to interpret these errors. I'll run memtest and share my results.
  11. Here is what I get after reboot. It sometimes hangs on boot with the same error. Model: Custom M/B: ASRock - N68C-GS FX CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ @ 2200 HVM: Enabled IOMMU: Disabled Cache: 256 kB, 1024 kB Memory: 2048 MB (max. installable capacity 8 GB) Network: eth0: 1000Mb/s - Full Duplex Kernel: Linux 4.1.13-unRAID x86_64
  12. Hey guys, My unRAID will not stay running for more than a day. I keep getting some kind of kernel panic issue. I'll post a screenshot and some logs. It looks like there is two trace errors, it seems to always have something to do with the "start_secondary+0x10e/0x12" line. Then I get the following: Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt Kernel Offser: disabled --[end Kernel panic..... Anyone know if this is CPU related or where should I begin my troubleshooting?
  13. In my case, the eth0 interface which was statically configured to 10.0.0.100 showed no IP when the bridge was enabled, and the br0 interface was assigned 10.0.0.100.
  14. I'm not too sure on a lot of the networking aspects of unRAID, as they seem to have commands missing that I would expect on regular distros. ifconfig br0 up -- this will enable your bridge I would think the bridge instance would be preconfigured. I would check for you but my unRAID is down and can't seem to get any support on my thread. Give it a try, then try running ifconfig and see what the output is.
  15. You don't need to block out your IP or gateway, as those are your private IP addresses and most people just use 192.168.0.1 or .100. As for your problem, post what the output of ifconfig is after you try to enable the bridge, and then your system log. You may have to try manually enabling it in the config file, or through the console.
  16. I assigned br0 to 10.0.0.110 and eth0 from 10.0.0.100 to 0.0.0.0. When i go to 10.0.0.110 in my browser, I get access to the web interface. I cannot connect with tower/ anymore, nor will it allow me to connect if I assign br0 10.0.0.100. I want that to be the IP of my unraid server. Can somebody clear up exactly how this works? I can ping tower and get a reply from 10.0.0.100 I also get replies back when I ping 10.0.0.110 Why is unRAID using two different IP's? There is nowhere in any of the config files that I see the 10.0.0.100 IP address assigned.
  17. To answer your questions: I usually access by either IP or tower in Chrome I can ping tower, and I get replies from 10.0.0.100, which was statically assigned to eth0 My router acts as a DHCP server for all other hosts on my network, except UnRAID The rest of my network is working.
  18. Yes, i got a new modem and router today and still cannot connect to unRAID. The ifconfig command shows that br0 is getting the ip address I have statically assigned to eth0. eth0 shows no ip address at all. I have tried taking down br0, and assigning the ip to eth0 but I still cannot connect. I did change my network settings to create a public bridge for my virtual machines prior to all this happening. I assume the br0 interface is stopping me from getting access to the services on the server.
  19. Hey guys. This doesn't necessarily have to do with unraid specifically, but my internet went down tonight and I noticed some strange behavior. For some reason, I cannot access my network shares or the unRAID web interface. Chrome shows me that it is a DNS error, but I don't understand why it would need DNS to access a local network server. Also, Windows says that it cannot access any of my shares. When I do the diagnostics, it tells me to restart my modem. On my Mac, it just won't connect. Any network gurus have any idea what is going on? Maybe something is acting up with my router also. EDIT - I replaced my modem and router today. I still cant access other computers on my network when there is no internet connection or unRAID at all.
  20. Squid, it did allow me to assign it as a cache drive, but I was unable to access any of the shares on it. No matter what protocol I use, I got access denied while trying to open the Cache disk share, or any of the folders unRAID made into user shares. I did format the drive to xfs and then was able to access the cache disk share. I guess we can consider this solved, although it would be nice to have some official word on what the deal is. I am guessing there is a conflict with the permissions being that the file system was NTFS, maybe something like FAT32 would work just fine being that it is does not have the security NTFS does. Thanks for the help guys. I downloaded unRAID about 3 weeks ago after first hearing about it from a friend, and just finally bought my key last night. I was on the fence for awhile, but I think this may be the best OS i have come across.
  21. I think I may have figured this out.. Being that I did not format this drive, I am guessing there is a conflict with it being NTFS filesystem. Can anyone confirm?
  22. Hey guys, I just put in a 250GB drive tonight to use for my cache drive. I have (3) 2TB drives in my array, with one being my parity. I have not had any problem with accessing the user or disk shares on these with any of my Windows, Mac, or Linux computers. For some reason, it don't even have read permission to access my cache drive. I had some files on it I would like to transfer over to one of my other user shares before I format it. I can see all the folders showing up as shares, but I cannot access them as I am denied permission on my Mac and Windows computers. Am I missing something? I have the cache disk share set to public and set to export. Is the cache share inaccessible for file transfers or anything?
  23. Will this work with two video cards? The board I have purchased, the Asus M5A99FX does not have on-board video. My current board is capable of this, so I will plug the VGA into the onboard port and see what happens. Is there no way to vnc or rdp into OpenELEC?
  24. I currently have VGA going to my 55" Samsung plasma, but it is not hooked up. I just ordered a new graphics card this morning with HDMI, as my current card is only DVI, and will use that with a 6' cable to the TV. I have to move my server tower closer to the TV to use the VGA cable, but even with OpenELEC running, all I see is the CLI for unRAID. Is there a command to start OpenELEC from this point? I have searched and searched, all I can find is documentation that gets me to the point of clicking create after configuring the VM, and then how to use Kodi.
  25. I do not have that option. I have attached the menu as it appears when I click on OpenELEC.
