  2. Hi All, I was trying to make VirtualBox + Vagrant work under my Ubuntu VM but found that this was not supported in the current version. I upgraded to 6.2.1 and although the VM is now working and fully supports VirtualBox, it seems I am no longer able to select a Parity. Upon boot it says that the Parity disk is not recognized. I tried moving it to Disk 2, it goes through a check, but then shows the same error. Setup is as follows: Parity: 4tb wd red Disk 1: 4tb wd red Cache 1: 250gb corsair bx100 Cache 2: 250gb corsair bx100 Am I missing something? Thanks, Rj ein-diagnostics-20161014-1543.zip
  3. Hi All, First off, incredible guide! It would be very difficult to get a working install of El Capitan if it wasn't for this post. Thanks a lot! I just have a few problems: 1) I'm passing through my Logitech c920 webcam but I am always getting the "There is no video device." error whenever I try to use an application that uses the webcam. 2) Unable to install Clover. Encountering the same problem as bluepr0 (https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=43816.msg474337;topicseen#msg474337) 3) Lots of Nvidia GPU problems, (Nvidia toolbar shows I'm still using native osx display device.) 4. Gotcha! Thanks for that. Ok, just to give a brief background.. Why I want to run Win10: - Good GPU drivers - Awesome triple monitor support - Gaming Why I want to run OSX: - Unix is just easier to work with in a professional sense (I am a web developer) - I prefer OSX UI/UX Well, I know I can just create two VMs: one Win10 and one El-Cap, and only run one of them at a time (to be able to use the necessary system resources like ram, gpu, etc.) but what I was hoping for was to take advantage of Win10's triple monitor support and be able to pull up a Unix terminal whenever I need to do some work, or maybe pull up a work related application I need on OSX using VirtualBox seamless mode...
  5. @CHBMB I'm a bit confused. (Also, a big learning opportunity for me so I'm very much interested.) How does Unraid run it's VMs exactly? You asked if I was running my Win10 VM inside VirtualBox, and the truth is, I'm not sure. I'm just running it from Unraid's VM manager. Does Unraid make use of VirtualBox to run it's VMs, does it use KVM, or does it use a totally different thing? @ljm42 Perfect. That's exactly what I was looking for. Gonna try it out tonight, thanks!
  6. My motherboard and CPU supports VT-d I believe. I've ticked both "Virtualisation" and "VT-d" inside the bios settings. I believe El-Cap will work on top of Unraid, but my true goal is to run it on top of Win10. ... Quickly looked up KVM and it supports nested virtualisation.. In that regard then will I need to run Win10 via KVM to be able to run El-Cap on top? Hope Im making sense, thanks for the quick response CHBMB.
  7. Hi All, I was hoping to run an instance of either El Capitan or Ubuntu 16.04 inside a VM via Virtualbox on top of my main Win10 VM on Unraid. Is this possible? I've tried but I'm getting this error inside Virtualbox: VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX). Anyone have any ideas how to make this work? Thanks, Rj
  8. Hi All, This may be unrelated in terms of OS as most of the posts mention that the OS being used is Windows, but I'd just like to add that this has successfully solved my problem of trying to get multiple usb devices recognized in Ubuntu 15.10. If anyone needs more information please send me a message and I'll do my best to help. Thanks, Rj
  9. Hi All, So I got UNRAID up and running and came across the same problem, games don't get through the "Preparing" stage when you try to launch them on Steam. I think I finally found what's causing the error. So the Steam app doesn't run from the admin account, but the games still do. Unfortunately, mapping drives on Windows explorer only make them visible to your user account - the drives must also be mapped in the administrator account. http://superuser.com/questions/690287/command-prompt-in-administrator-mode-doesnt-see-mapped-drives PS: This was on Windows 8.1 - I hope this can still provide some insight to some users.
