  1. Some pointers to anyone installing this container (which I think should have been mentioned in the OP):

[*] If using anything other then eth0 for your unRAID server, you should add a variable named INTERFACE (use the container Advanced View for that), with the value of you server network connection (the default is eth0, but if you've set up Bonding, it would probably be bond0). You can check in the WebUI Dashboard...

[*] Once the container is up and running, access the admin webpage and under "Server Network Settings" make sure you enter your external IP (preferrbly - use a DDNS, but that's another story) and save the settings.

[*] As for users passwords - the container is set up by default to use PAM (I have no idea why). Change it to Local (under "Authentication"->"General") and you'll be able to setup the passwords using the ui.

    Just my two (three) cents.

    +1

Should be added in the first post. Especially the first part. Took me a few hours to figure out when i was setting this docker up.

  2. What's the output of ifconfig from a terminal?

I'm a noob, but guessing from the ifconfig my docker needs to be pointed at br0 and not eth0 (default)? And if correct, I don't know how to go about doing that but I guess I can keep digging.

I suspect it's down to the fact you've got bonding enabled on your Unraid machine as that's the only difference I see between my setup and yours.

I went into webUI - edit page for docker; added a variable INTERFACE with a value of bond0 -- I can now access port 943. So I think my issue is resolved, but before I get too comfortable I just want to ask is this fix kosher? Also before this, I didn't realize I could do this. I.e. is there a technical reason it's mapped to eth0, or it's just default (you have to start somewhere)?

Again, thank you for your assistance and time (not to mention patience to deal with this noob).

Can I ask you how you added this interface? I'm also using a bond connection and cannot figure out how to set this up. I can currently only access the VPN web interface if I change the connection type to Bridge.

[*]Click "Add another Path, Port or Variable" in the container configuration.

    [*]Name = Variable 3

    [*]Target = INTERFACE

    [*]Value = bond0

    Save and it should work.

  3. I'm experiencing that the GUI is unresponsive with this Docker. For instance clicking on "Settings" takes about 5 seconds to load the settings menu - sometimes it's even timing out. In other situations everything is running smoothly. Hardware shouldn't be the issue, as the CPU is not even running above 10%, and i have > 10 GB of rams free.

I have already tried reinstalling, and stopping + starting the container several times.

    Any suggestions to this issue?

  4. Much like the other docker DNS updaters (duckdns / noip.com), this docker will update the A records of your private domains.

UnoEuro provides a free DNS management interface, so private domains can be moved and managed there for free.

Feel free to post any questions/issues/requests relating to this docker in this thread.

  5. I see. So it's something that gets enabled when adding VM's? (I have a Windows 10 VM).

So i guess this is a contraint when using VM's + Dockers? I wouldn't be able to change it back to eth0 and still having my VM's + Dockers?

  6. When i check ifconfig i wonder why my ip is showing up under br0 instead of eth0? It caused me alot of headache setting up the OpenVPN docker, as the default interface was eth0. What's the difference between those two, and how do i change it to eth0 (if that's the default)?

I have just a single Network Card (Onboard on my GIGABYTE GA-Z170M-D3H motherboard). And a DD-WRT router with auto DHCP.

  7. bata loads up fine but i cant seem to access the web interface via network or the GUI localhost (even though it is getting an ip form the network and i can ping it both ways form both the server and my laptop (same network)

    any ideas ?

I had the exact same issue. I was trying latest beta of unRAID on an Kingston 64GB HyperX USB drive formatted as NTFS. I switched to an 8GB Kingston formatted as FAT32 and everything started working perfectly.

So my advice is to try another USB drive.

  8. Thanks for the help. I can see on http://ark.intel.com/products/90591/Intel-GL82Z170-PCH that the Intel® Z170 Chipset has VT-d. Also VT-d is mentioned in the official Gigabyte manual (however disabled by default), so i guess that should be fine? If not, is there another Motherboard you can recommend, which will work without issues?

Yeah, for now it will just be Remote access. Maybe I will have other plans in the future, but until that, they might have fixed the issues :D

  9. I have created a list for the parts i want to buy for my new unRAID PLEX streaming NAS server.

I will be using it for (prioritized list):

[*]PLEX streaming (2-3 concurrent streams/transcodes). The CPU with a PassMark of 9956 should handle that.

[*]Docker images. CouchPotato, Sonarr, OpenVPN etc.

[*]Running a Windows 10 VM and a Ubuntu VM - just for having a playground for some testing and stuff - NO gaming!

Would one be so kind to revriew the below list of parts, and let me know if there is anything i should be aware of with the components i picked? I've used hours searching other threads in here, and tried to assemble it from those findings based on my own opinions as well. Mostly I'm concerned about the Motherboard - does it have all what it takes to create VM's? Windows 10 VM and Ubuntu VM (VT-d and all that stuff - this is a new world for me)?
