  1. I've been working on creating a VM for some light gaming. I've followed spaceinvader's youtube tutorials, and am pretty sure I haven't made any major mistakes. But, things keep going wrong, in particular my audio goes out, and when i run a very low end game (old school runescape) it stutters, and then crashes the entire VM. Sometimes it takes down my entire unraid server. Where do i begin with troubleshooting a VM? It's a windows 10 VM, with an entire NVME SSD passed through, and a RX560. I know that i can enable logging for my unraid server with the fix commonm problems plugin, is there something similar for VMs? I searched for a guide but didn't find one, if someone knows of one and links it i'll just follow the guide. Thanks!
  2. I’ve been using my unraid machine mainly with dockers, but I decided I want to mess around with a vm with a gpu, and it is proving much trickier than I thought. In my first slot I had a fx 580 for console, and in my second slot a brand new Rx 560. My motherboard is a b350 tomahawk arctic and my cpu is a ryzen 1700. When I first tried to start a windows 10vm I got an error that led me to realize my iommu groupings weren’t right. I enabled acs over ride and it did not fix the issue. So I switched the rx 560 to my first slot and the fx 580 to my second slot, and now the iommu groupings are good, but the rx560 is taken for my console. I tried booting with only a monitor in the fx580 but that didn’t make it be grabbed for the console, and I didn’t see an option for that in bios. I’m able to start the vm in this configuration, but I lose my console display, the screen then shows white dots across it and crashes. I assume it’s because it’s also set as the console card. I’m not sure where to go from here, and haven’t found anything on google to help me figure it out. Any help finding where to go next would be great, thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @Ezro and @cglatot, did either of you resolve this issue with domain.duckdns.org/gitea? I als oam having the exact same 404 error, and i keep changing around my default.conf and nothing fixes it that I've tried.
  4. Thanks! I asked that question before googling it, shame on me, and i edited it in using the plugin CA config editor. >.<
  5. It says to edit \\tower\flash\config\go , will i need to do that thru SSH?
  6. I am new to unraid, and pretty much since installing it it has been randomly crashing every few hours. It does not give any warning or error, just an instant reboot. My hardware is below, and the diagnostics dump instructed in the FAQs is attached. CPU: Ryzen 1700 Gpu: Nvidia fx580 Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic Ram: 16gb DDR4 2400 Cache drive: 256gb Samsung ssd Array: 2 x 250gb Samsung evo 250 (I know this is not supported, I have 2 x 8tb wd reds on the way, but I wanted to test and learn before they arrive, could these be causing the crash? If so i'll stop all of this and be patient) Plugins installed: Community Applications, Dynamix SSD Trim, Fix Common Problems, Nerd Tools Dockers: Deluge, OpenVPN-AS VMS= Windows 10, windows 7 eletroguy-unrai-diagnostics-20180406-0741.zip
  7. Squid, I'm actually going to make a new topic, because I misunderstood the issue. I plugged my monitor and such in so i could reach the gui, and found out the reason i Couldn't reach it is it's randomly locking up/having unsafe shut downs. I installed fix common problems and i'm going to collect some logs and post asking for help with THAT instead. I'd just like to mention I've been posting daily and someone always helps. This is the best forum haha.
  8. So I'm doing a little digging, that other IP on that VLAN I didn't create shows up as my Gateway in the WAN settings. Not sure if that sheds any light on anything.
  9. I was following the guide to setting up OpenVPN so that i could use openvpn on my surface pro on the go to manage my unraid. When i got to the step to set up the DDNS and begin editing to make sure the admin account would not be recreated, i was kicked off the webgui. I opened up my router page and i can see that i'm still connected, but now it shows my unraid box being on a seperate VLAN, along with an ip i don't recognize. I'm loath to get out a monitor and everything again, since i just did so last night for another issue, but i guess that's the life of a newbie, but i was hoping maybe somebody could shed some light on just how this happens, a VLAN gets created. My router is a Asus nighthawk x6 r8000 running advanced tomato.
  10. Thanks for the advice! What i ended up doing was plugging my unraid box in to a monitor so i could hit the gui, and just set everything back to automatically managed and it fixed the issue. I think what i accidentally did was assign my unraid box the same IP as my router, and this caused the issue. oops >.<
  11. I’m having a strange issue. I’m new to unraid and wasn’t having too much difficulty, until today I was working on setting up some VMs and network bridging. And then my network went down. My surface pro tells me it “can’t connect to primary dns server” turning off my unraid box and rebooting my router fixes it. As soon as the unraid box turns on, it goes out again. I can only assume I configured something wrong in network settings and it’s killing my routers dnd functions, but I’ve tried changing settings around and can’t fix it. Any ideas what I messed up here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That's okay, mac os would just be a toy/luxury. Running 2 fully functional windows systems off one desktop though, that's like living the dream haha, especially if it doesnt degrade the gaming performance. Crazy. Count me in for a trial, and if it works, a purchase
  13. So, I've been looking for a solution to this for awhile, and I'm thinking unraid might be my solution. With unraid, can i run 2 fullu functional desktops, each with their own monitor, mouse, and keyboard, from one tower? Can one of them run MAC OS? What kind of hardware would i need in the tower? One of the instances would be used for gaming like overwatch, the other would just be a basic user browsing social media and using microsoft office. Is this possible?
