  1. Is there any way to purge that list, or to set a threshold on how long things stay there?
  2. I hope this is the right place. I've finally decided to ask about some irritating issues I've seen with Plex. For some reason, the "recently added" sections in Plex never seem to work right. For example, in the "recently added movies" section, there are nearly 6,000 entries, and there are things in there that have not been touched since 2013. TV has the same problem, albeit less dramatically. Is there any way to clear all of those out or otherwise get the intended functionality working? PMS is Version 1.1.4.2757, Unraid is 6.2. My library settings look like this.
  3. Ok, thank you - the files all have per-file md5 checksums in there so I can check them. Thanks again, that helps a ton!
  4. What would I be looking for, in terms of determining which is the accurate location according to the filesystem, and which is not, with mc? Allocation was set to high water since I first set this up a little over 5 years ago. I have no idea one this one specific drive filled completely up, I certainly didn't change anything with it.
  5. ... this could have gone better, although it could have gone worse. I ran the plugin. it estimated 16 hours, but it stopped at 13 hours with "error 23". It definitely did at least some rebalancing, but now I have a terabyte less of space than when I started. There are some immediately noticeable duplicate files on disk 8 and disk 9 now. How to I resolve the duplicates without further screwing things up? To unraid, one location is "correct" and one is not, right?
  6. Playing with it now, but that looks like 100% what I need - thank you so much!
  7. Hello all, I have a drive that is utterly out of free space, I mean, zero bytes free. The array has space available - about 2tb or so. I'd like to move some of the stuff off this empty drive to rebalance the available space. I've done a search on the forum for this and seen references to "this feature is not needed". I think it's causing some problems though. For one, I think drives perform poorly when they are 100% full, right? Additionally, I see a lot of errors related to this in my syslog: May 31 03:46:26 Shiva logger: rsync error: some files/attrs were not transferred (see previous errors) (code 23) at main.c(1165) [sender=3.1.0] May 31 03:46:26 Shiva logger: ./Shared/OS images & Backups/Client Backups/Azrael/WindowsImageBackup/azrael/Catalog/BackupGlobalCatalog May 31 03:46:26 Shiva logger: .d..t...... Finally, when I try to copy files from my Windows machine to the server, Teracopy will say "can't copy files", not enough disk space" on the initial attempt, but if I start it anyway it works fine. Is there a way to automatically rebalance this drive? If not, then I would really need help with how to manually move stuff around. I'm not sure how to move files off this mnt without screwing things up as far as parity goes and so on. it's probably just making the 2 mounts available and cutting and pasting but I'd definitely need someone to tell me that before I do it. Thank you!
  8. OK, got home from work, so it's been about 22 hours. Still not working - I spun down all of the drives, browsed the directories, and it spun them up again. Process is running.
  9. I have 2gb of RAM, and yes - it was working until 2 days ago or whenever I upgraded to Unraid final. The share has 165,067 files broken up into 8,194 folders. The folders levels aren't very deep, I don't think there is any directory that is more than 8 levels and most are like 2 or 3 deep probably. I have a few subfolders, like TV shows and comics, that have many folders in them, but again it's shared\comics\(title), or shared\tv\(title), 3 deep. One thing I did notice is that, on the Unraid Main page previously my RAM usage was very nearly 100%, all the time, which as I understand is normal. Now it shows 60% used. I think the meter on the Unraid Main page may just report it differently though, I have the system stats plugin going and it shows 1.26gb used, 619mb cached, and 140mb free which lines up (less cached) with the value on the Unraid Main; I suspect that the main page no longer includes cached ram in the displayed usage. This is probably totally unrelated. So far as how quickly am I checking the directory structure after the manual spindown, a few minutes, maybe 10 minutes? I freely admit I have absolutely no idea how long it takes to initially write the folder structure to RAM. I'm about to go to bed, so it will have 8 hours until I next check it.
  10. Thank you for the response. I removed that line from my go file, and set the plugin back to enabled, then to defaults, and then to only cache the one share I want. I then rebooted. Still having the issue, I spin drives down, browse directories, they are spun up again. From my process list: From my syslog: What should I try next?
  11. Hello all, I'm having a problem, almost certainly one I created myself, with getting cache_dirs to work. I started Unraid with server pro 4.7, and added the cache_dirs script. I later upgraded to 6.0b12 and again, no issues. I've since upgraded to 6.0.1 final. Since then, cache_dirs no longer seems to work: if I spin down all the drives manually, and then browse the file structure a from a client PC, there is a pause, and it spins up the drives. The previous behavior was I could browse the tree instantly to pretty much any folder depth, and it would only spin up the drives if I actually opened a file, like playing a movie or what have you. I noticed from my process list there was, in fact, a cache_dirs process running. Nonetheless I installed the plugin with the new plugin manager, no issues. Unfortunately, now I have 2 processes as such: and it's still not behaving as previously, accessing the file structure pauses while it spins up a drive, and wakes up more drives as I progress. How do I straighten this out? Thanks!
  12. Ahhhh... Thank you! I have learned so much from this today. I moved it all to the cache drive, and yeah, now all the folder structure, logs etc are all present. Thanks again!
  13. Right now I have install directory as /usr/local/plexmediaserver and config\library directory as /usr/local/plexmediaserver/config . Sorry to keep being so dumb, but how do I point it to, say, my cache drive? Also if I put it on the cache drive won't the mover shove it all over? I mean, since you suggested it presumably not but I'm not clear. Thank you again for all your help and your patience.
  14. Yes, it's installed to the USb drive. I'm not sure how to move it. Oh, and that makes sense, about the startcfg.
  15. ... it's now working. I just hit the blue update version for the like 5th or 6th time, and again got an error, but this time, the "unknown version" verbiage disappeared. I started it, and... it started. I did manually create the \config\ folder, I'm not sure if that mattered, there is nothing in it. Thank you again for the help!
  16. I am definitely not seeing a log file. I even copied the entire flash over and searched it for *.log, and the only one present is not that one. My plex is being installed to The path to the \\tower\flash\config\plugins\plexmediaserver. I have it set to, in PhAze settings within Unraid, to /usr/local/plexmediaserver/config. There is no config subfolder off the plex folder. I tried deleting the startcfg.sh file and then hit apply, which recreated the file, but same issue.
  17. I'm not seeing a library folder. I have \config\plugins\plexmediaserver, and there are no subfolders under it. There are 3 files in it: plexmediaserver.cfg plexmediaserver.png plgver.txt startcfg.sh and that's it.
  18. Hello all, I'm having an issue with Plex. I'm using 6.0b12, and had no problem installing the plugin from github, or editing my go file, and I got into settings. From there was was prompted to install it, which seemed to go OK. Right now it's status: stopped, and I can't seem to start it. It does show (failed to detected version) and has an option to update, but that doesn't seem to do anything. If I enable Plex and apply, or just hit start, it seems to try to start and eventually gives "PID not created, application did not start for some reason". My syslog shows only: Jan 15 18:33:58 Shiva sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; nohup /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" > /dev/null 2>&1 & Jan 15 18:34:16 Shiva sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version Jan 15 18:34:24 Shiva sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; nohup /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" > /dev/null 2>&1 & Jan 15 18:34:39 Shiva sudo: root : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/usr/local/emhttp ; USER=nobody ; COMMAND=/bin/bash -c . /boot/config/plugins/plexmediaserver/startcfg.sh; /usr/local/plexmediaserver/"Plex Media Server" --version Is this some permissions thing, or some other dumb thing I'm doing? Thanks!
  19. Ok, I got a replacement 3TB which just arrived and I've set it to do 3 passes with preclear & screen. While that happens, is it safe to use the server - i.e watch movies off it, etc while 1 disk is missing? Or should I take the array offline? Thank you again for the assistance.
  20. I am using 1.15 from here (Pretty sure, I'm at work now and can't check but 99%) - is there a newer one?
  21. Ok, I ran the preclear which only took 41 minutes (?) that doesn't seem right. Here's what I got: Thanks again for looking.
  22. This is probably a super dumb question but I'm not sure if I'm reading this report right. Is this hard drive failed? In one part of the test, it says passed, but in a later part, it seems to say that it's failed twice. Thank you.
  23. Hello, I've got a problem with email notifications on my Unraid 6b10a build. I've got unmenu installed, and I've got the email set up - it carried over most of the settings from my years-running Unraid 5 build. Test emails are OK. Tonight is the first of the month, so the monthly parity check fired off. I didn't get emails for that. Additionally, I have a problematic disk that was error'd up, and wound up falling out of the array. I've removed it, smart checked it (it seems OK), re-added it, rebuilding. Seems to be going OK (though this is the third time in a month it's happened so I'm going to replace the drive anyway I think). The point is, none of these actions generated an email. Power outages do send emails though, I had a brief one 2 days ago, got the outage\on batteries email, and the power restored email, no problem. So I obviously missed some setting somewhere in my config - where should I be looking? Thank you!
