  1. UPDATE: Have received my H200 HBA in IT mode, installed it but still no joy. Can someone tell me how I can check in what mode my PIKE card is? Getting a bit frustated hoped for an easier swap from older ish hardware.
  2. Maybe a stupid question, will two of these LSI based (pike card is also lsi 2008) work together without problems or should I take something else into account? Found a dell perc 310 and perc h200 card, wich is the better choice?
  3. Can you name an alternative that might work? need 16 sata ports in total, 8 of them are on the mobo, steered by the pike card, or is that a marvel based one too, then i'm properly ( well the f word isn't usable here)
  4. I can move the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 but with the pike card, it's impossible. Weird thing is that it seems to boot showing one card first and in another boot the other but never at the same time.
  5. USB in place but before starting, you see all the text on screen after post. I used to see the card and the on board sata connections but since my move to other hardware it does what I described above
  6. I use this together with an asus Z9PA-D8 motherboard. So I have a SuperMicro AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 card and a pike 2008 card. When I start up it either chooses one of these cards at random but never both. Am I doing something wrong. Really would like to be able to rebuild my old server with this newer hardware and start tinkering with storage and VM's. Can anyone get me up and running with hints. Read somewhere that it could have somethjing to do with IT mode and the two cards not liking eacht other in this setup. OR can I go another route by not using the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 and use something else instead together with the pikecard?
  7. These things are so expenisive in Europe ie Netherlands, anyone have a clue how to be able to ship these fairly cheap? Have heard of shipito solutions but do not know if this works? Any help appreiciated. This does help me in building a dual 2670 xeon server, vm, docker, plex unit. JP
  8. I wrote exit and continue. Now the blue windows logo and after that no joy, do I have to be patient?
  9. That was it, shares and assignments back. VM page shows more thatn it ever did.
  10. Don't know if I am hijacking this topic with my entry. I moved my unraid to new hardware. Wanting to play wit vm's. I would like to keep my data on the array. The shares also. I do not mind about plugins or dockers. I followed a lot of videos but I do not seem to be able to continue to make a new VM. I have a dual xeon 2650 v1 config with 64Gb of ram. Made a backup of my current flash with unraid 6.xx on another computer. Formatted the drive and copied a new fresh install of unraid on in, made it bootable and copied theconfig folder to the flash drive without the GO file, copied the KEY in the config directory. When I start, I do not see any assigned drives. No shares. As much as I want to play with VM's I do not want to lose my data on the 10 2 Tb drives in the system. Am I overlooking something. UNraid does keep track of assignment of the drives of the array or doens't it. Any help appreciated
  11. Is there a how to, for bending or removing the tabs, bit lost here. How to do it.
  12. Hi community, I am trying to build a dual xeon 2650 workstation like unraid system with a couple of vm's. Found and bought a Super Micro board, what I failed to see I that it is a ee atx size board. This significantly lessens my options of building it into a workstation.' Are there members who can help in finding a case wich is big enough. NOT racck mount, workstation.I do not mind a bit of tweaking to make it fit. Hopefully people have done this.
  13. Thank you for your quick response. You are pointing out a couple of useful things here. Hoping to get some reactions from Dutch users. English is fine too, reading is easier for me than writing it though, as you might have noticed.
