I'm not planning to use a monitor on the server, after initial setup I intend for the server to be headless. VMs will only be accessed remotely from other devices. My current server (HP Microserver N54L) is completely headless and this is how I access the VMs. I assume the same can be done with unRaid? I have separate Gaming PC's and HTPC so the server won't need to perform any of those sort of roles that require video pass-through. Great to hear! Hopefully those weeks turn into months and years

Hi all, I made a build thread here for my upcoming Ryzen build, but a comment mentioned Ryzen has its issues and I may be best to ask in this thread. Does anyone anticipate me having any issues with the below? I will NOT be passing through GPU to VM's, GPU is simply there because I thought it might assist with initial setup. My understanding is that as long as I use unRaid v6.4rc7 I should be okay? From having a quick read over at the Anybody planning a Ryzen build? thread, it appears the main issue is GPU pass through to VMs. Is that correct? I am not planning on having any GPU pass through. I actually wasn't intending to use a GPU at all but thought I may need it to assist with initial setup and then thought I might need it to boot etc. Looks like as long as I use unRaid v6.4rc7 I should be okay. Maybe I should post my build to that thread and see if they identify any issues?

Hi everyone! I need a new home server/NAS and have come up with the following build below. I have built several PCs however this will be my first time using unRaid. Looking for it to be reviewed before I purchase to make sure there is no noticeable issues or flaws, also have a couple questions at the bottom. Does anyone know if the R5 has the same problem? The motherboard does not say using the NVME M.2 SSD Port will disable any of the 8x SATA 3 ports. Can anyone confirm if this is true? If so I have the perfect amount of slots. Do I need the GPU after initial setup? Any issues or noticeable flaws that stand out to anyone? Thank you for your help!

That sucks about the Node 804 HDD screw positions. I was hoping that would be something they have resolved by now, it's one of the things holding me back from doing a new unraid build with 8TB HDDs
