I'm trying to use a new Microsoft Mobile 4000 mouse ID 045e:07b2 with my Windows 10 VM 'Disney'.  It works on boot, but if not used it becomes unusable within seconds.

If I don't assign it to a VM and use the USB hotplug plugin, I can again attach it sucessfully but it detaches again within seconds if not used.

Any ideas what's wrong?  I have another Microsoft model mouse and keyboard ID 045e:0745 on a diff VM in the same room, but I thought they all operated on diff channels these days?

Yeah had similar issues with a microsoft bt sculpt mouse, same exact issue. Never got it resolved, just went over to a generic bt mouse.

or your flash drive is gone, common error when there's a problem.

yeah i think the flash drive crapped out on me. I formatted a new one and threw the /config folder over and all seems well now? Not sure if I did that right but the array went back up and it's checking parity

May have misread your OP.  This happened immediately after a reboot?

Could be that your flash drive suffered corruption.  Run chkdsk on it from a windows box (not sure of Mac equivalent).

I tried to chkdsk but it says it is write protected

Edit, nm, I think it's because it's my locked down work computer, i'll look to see how to do this on mac or linux

  4. My server locked up so I rebooted and now I cannot connect to the web gui! I have no idea what's going on and am freaking out since I have so much data on there. Any clue on what to check and how to check it? the server seems to boot up ok and I can ssh in but there is just no web gui

edit, when I ssh in it shows no files in /boot. but when i put the flash drive into another computer i see all the files there

    Says

-bash: cd: mnt: No such file or directory

edit 2, rebooted, did a ls in /boot and saw this

    Just chiming in here:

    Ryzen 1700
Asrock AB350M Pro4, last boot was when I updated to bios version 3.30

For what it's worth, my PSU is the Corsair RM550x.

I have global C-states enabled. Before changing it to "enabled" it was on "auto" by default whatever that means. I don't know if there's another setting for C6 states? and if there is I don't know what the setting is on right now unfortunately.

It used to crash within 4-7 days. I'm on 8 days and 17 hours right now which is a new record for me.

Same motherboard, left c-states on auto and have never had a crash

  6. So I bought unRAID about 3 months ago and gave up since I couldn't figure out what to use it for. I have a Synology NAS I use for storage (still have plenty of space there) which backups nightly to gdrive.

I have a esxi box with Ubuntu on it for Plex and subsonic and torrents. My main machine is a RYZEN rig.

I got to thinking, why have the esxi box wasting electricity, so my options are to run hyper-v Ubuntu for Plex and subsonic (which runs fine) or I could throw unRAID on RYZEN and run windows in a VM and run Plex and other stuff in docker.

    I have in RYZEN

    1x8TB

    1x4TB

    2x2TB

    And a 500gb cache

I don't think I need parity here since the Synology is my main storage for everything. I guess I could mirror my Synology onto unRAID for a local backup but not sure what else I can with unRAID in my setup. I really like unRAID and want to use it but as you can see I am not sure how it fits in.

Tl;Dr - already have Synology NAS with storage for backup and am trying to simplify 2 servers and a NAS into 1 server with NAS.
