  1. I have an issue with Krusader that I must be missing. Trying to "MOVE" files off unraid to USB. Krusader copys the file but throws an error at the end. Almost like Krusader doesnt have permission to delete original file. Tried Docker Safe permissions. My way around this was to change PUID and PGID to 0 to run as root. Not good but cant fined out what setting is wrong.
  2. I am rebuilding my server. New everything except drives. But I am going from 11 drives (1 parity 10 data) down to 9 (1 parity 8 data). Am I correct in assuming that the only way to do this is to move all the data off then run the New Config tool? I do not have any data on the two drives I am removing. Thank you.
  3. *NOT SOLVED* My weird problem is back???? One thing I notice is syslog is not written to cache even though the option is selected in settings. CommonFixProblems plugin even warns me about this. Syslog server is on and mirror to cache is checked but no file. Maybe hardware. Going to replace cpu, maybe it fried itself.
  4. *SOLVED* ended up being the cpu fan. Two mounts broke and the cpu overheated and shut off. Nothing to do with unraid just cheap stock intel cooler.
  5. Will do. How often does unraid write a syslog?
  6. OK folks here's one for you. My unraid server seems to go to sleep during the night for some reason. The server does not power down but I have no network connectivity. I can not access the admin page via web browser and all network access is cut off. Can not ssh either Of coarse after a reboot I loss the log so I cant see any activity. I have ran fix common problems and found no problems. I rest the S3 plugin to default (even though I never used it. My board does not support S3) then uninstalled it. I reset the bios to default just in case. It's not a power problem. The server is into a UPS and its log does not show a power down. I can not narrow it down so any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
  7. [SOLVED] Possibly? I finally was able to upgrade the firmware to 20.00.07.00 (which was way harder then it needs to be). SMART test on all drives passed. I still get UDMA CRC errors but don't know if it effects drives or data. Next test will be to load data and see what happens. unraid-diagnostics-20190205-1933.zip
  8. *UPDATE* OK, updating the firmware on HBA is a nightmare. I have a UEFI Bios that will not boot from USB no matter what I have tried. Spent the last 2 hours on very site I could Google finding solutions and none worked. It seems the only option would be to pull the card and place it in a windows machine and update it.
  9. Actually I was just checking that when your post showed up. Thank you.
  10. Thank you. I have tried new raid card and new cables. Even new power supply.
  11. I am new to UnRaid. I inherited a UnRaid server after we bought out a company and it was used as a backup storage server. This server had hardware problems and was removed before I had a chance to get to now UnRaid. Now I have time and like the idea of using VM's across our platform so I thought I would get UnRaid a go. After installing UnRaid on a new USB drive and transferring the key, I used a spare computer to setup UnRaid. My problem is I keep getting warnings about udma crc error count over 150. I have one parity and one data drive. Both are new 10gig WD drives. Both on a LSI controller. There is no data on the drive so this error is occurring as the parity is being rebuilt. Just wondered it this is an error that can be ignored or something different. unraid-diagnostics-20190203-1647.zip
  12. *SOLVED* Thank you found that post shortly after my post. (Bad search)
  13. Looking for a new raid card for a server. Needs to be either PCIEX-16 or PCIEX-1. Prefer PCIEX-16 but cost is an issue. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you ahead of time.
  14. Thank you ,I looked at preclear might try that. Not worried about any data. Everything is off server. Fairly new to unraid. Most of my experience is on freenas.
  15. #Solved# My thinking was a format would mark any bad sectors as unuseable. But replacing the drive seems the best solution. I did not setup this server so I do not know what drives where used. Cheap off the shelf or NAS drives? Could be WD Greens, worst drive ever.
