  1. Hello, I added a new 8TB disk to my array. Not long after that, during one of the monthly parity checks, I got a notification of 24 pending sectors on this disk. However, after running an extended SMART self-test check, I got the "completed without error" message. What that means? Should I trust the SMART self-test check? Was the pending sector warning a false alarm during the parity check? Thanks!
  2. I like that. I didn't know that I could use the apcupsd in client mode on the Windows VM listening to the broadcast of the Unraid one. Now, how do I send the shutdown message from the Windows VM to the Host ?
  3. So just for clarification - I do need to install the VMware Tools for the Unraid VM correct?
  4. What PSU are you using? I've been trying all day to get mine going and it seems I can't get it to boot. I am using a Corsair 650TXV2 Modular
  5. Thanks to many folks on this thread I am now running Unraid inside ESXI as well. I chose Ivy Bridge 1230, with SuperMicro X9SCM-F, 16GB of Memory and 2 IBM 1015 cards. All is well, other than the 2nd LAN (Intel 82579LM). I passed it to Unraid (passthrough), but it's not being used. What are the steps to have the 2nd LAN used exclusively by UnRaid? Thanks
  6. I would like to but some too essential for shutting them down for a whole week to see if MAYBE something happens. I would say it started mainly after upgrading to RC8a (4.7 previously). I will try and disable SimpleFeatures Core - as it will hopefully have the least effect on the server usage around the house. Same problem happening with me, and only after migrate to RC8a. The only plug-in I have installed is the UPS one. I also have UnMenu running.
  7. Husky, did the Z option work for you? Or do you use the other suggestion from the thread below? http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21454.msg193110#msg193110 I am about to receive 2 3TB Seagate drives and I want to disable it as well. Thanks
  8. Thanks Neilt0. No, they won't be in the same drive. I will also look at nzbget.
  9. Mine is the Sempron 140 Sargas 2.7GHz Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Processor (SDX140HBGQBOX)
  10. I am currently running UnRaid on an AMD Sepron, 2GB RAM computer. I wonder if this spec is enough for SABNBZ or if not what is the recommended hardware spec for that? Other than SABNBZ, my unraid is just used as a movie share, no more than 1 blu-ray stream at time.
  11. I have Unraid running on a BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD AM3. All 6 Sata ports are full with 2TB drives, and it's time to start upgrading them to larger drives. Would this motherboard support them? Or do I have to either replace the Mobo or add an external SATA card? (which way would be recommended?)
  12. I will check the BIOS settings. Now, is there a good way to try it out? Will Unraid " try again" to enable the disk with a reboot? Or at this point I do need to restore the disk content before try a new shutdown and see if the BIOS settings will resolve it?
  13. Hello all, One of my Hard Drives always fall back to a disabled disk if I shutdown the server for sometime (usually a week or so). The first time I just rebuilt the disk content and everything went fine. Now, I just came back from a week vacation to find the same drive flagged as disabled again after power up the server. Based on my first experience, once the disk is rebuilt all content is intact and frequent parity checks never gave me any errors. But I am concerned with this drive anyway. Looking at the smart log (attached), I don't see anything obvious but I am not an expert on SMART logs - can someone take a look at it? Is there anything else I should try to do? This problem doesn't sound like a cable issue since once I rebuild the drive all content is fine until I power down the server - even if only 6 months later. Thanks! smart.txt
  14. I left my Unraid server off for a week or so while away from home. When I restarted it last night, I noticed that the array didn't restart due to one of my hard drives being reported as new (blue icon in the left side of the disk name, and a message below saying "Stopped. Disabled disk replaced." What should I do? I didn't replace the disk. Should I just allow it to rebuild the disk content anyway? I am running Unraid 4.7. Thanks Daniel
  15. Looks like 4.3 did the trick! My network card is now detected and I can use UnRaid with no problems at all! So for some reason the Linksys network card is not compatible with 4.4 but it works well with the 4.3 release. Thanks! Daniel.
  16. Thanks Joe. Here is the output of lsmod : md_mod ide_disk via82cxxxx ide_core So, the network card is not listed there. I also know that the Network card is OK because I can boot Windows XP (removing the USB drive) and access to the internet just fine. Is there any other option I should try before give up and look for a different network card? Peharps this network card was listed by mistake in the Hardware support page. Thanks Daniel.
  17. I sucessfully booted UnRaid 4.4 using a 512MB USB card. Everything seems to be working fine expect for the network. Following recommendations from other posts, I tried to: ls -l /dev/disk/by-label --> Successfully showed a device with the UNRAID label mount --> sucessfully showed that the device is mouted to /boot But the following two commands just return "no such device" ethtool eth0 ethtool -i eth0 That seems to indicate that my Ethernet card is not supported by UnRAId (v. 4.4). But this network card - LinkSys LNE100TX - is listed as fully supported at the Hardware list page. Is there any special step I must follow to enable this card? Thanks Daniel.
