  1. On point 13. It says I should now get a "Copy" button but it's not there under "Array Operation". Both the new parity drive and the new "Disk 5" are both blue so I think I i've done everything the right way so far. All I have is a "Start" and the description "Start will start Parity-Sync and/or Data-Rebuild." Am I missing something?
  2. Oh my bad then. I will re read that page a 3th time. I didn't really comprehend it all then.. i thought it wore more risky but then i understand you better now. Thank you for taking time to explain it. Then i can feel calm about it! I'm doing the preclean now so it will be a few days but that's just awesome!
  3. Yes I have. I have used it before about 3+ years ago and forgotten about it. but i mostly needed confirmation because my anxiety. I'm just worried I would loose all the data. Also if I do a parity swap then I would not have any parity drives which is scary.. Sorry for that.
  4. @JorgeB @JonathanM @itimpi Thank you all! If I understood you correctly after the preclear I'm running right now I will be able to take 8TB "Parity 1" away and then have two drives offline for the time being and add the new 18Tb as "Parity 1" and "OLD Parity 1" as a new "Disk 5" in one operation right? And when it's all done I could remove the 1Tb drives on a second operation. I'm sorry I did not explain that I have unBalance that I will use to move all from "Disk 7" and "Disk 8" to other drives.
  5. Parity 1 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sde) Parity 2 ST18000NM000J-0000000_00000000 - 18 TB (sdg) Disk 1 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdk) Disk 2 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdm) Disk 3 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdc) Disk 4 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdh) Disk 5 WDC_WD60EFRX -0000000_00000000 - 6 TB (sdl) (DEAD) Disk 6 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdi) Disk 7 WDC_WD10EFRX -0000000_00000000 - 1 TB (sdd) Disk 8 WDC_WD10EFRX -0000000_00000000 - 1 TB (sdf) A week or two ago "Disk 5" died in the array. (Not parity). Today I got a new Seagate Exos X18 18Tb to replace "Parity 1" as a late Xmas gift and to replace "Disk 5" with "Old Parity 1". I Also want to remove "Disk 7" and "Disk 8". Example: Parity 1 ST18000NM000J-0000000_00000000 - 18 TB (sde) (NEW) Parity 2 ST18000NM000J-0000000_00000000 - 18 TB (sdg) Disk 1 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdk) Disk 2 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdm) Disk 3 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdc) Disk 4 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdh) Disk 5 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdl) (Old Parity 1) Disk 6 WDC_WD80EFZX -0000000_00000000 - 8 TB (sdi) What would be the best/fastest/safest way?
  6. After updating unRAID to 6.10.0 it seems that Teamspeak won't start and i don't know why and as far as i can tell i don't see anything in the logs about it. and on the Docker tab it does not seem to show a IP when i start teamspeak.
  7. Anyone here got Roon working on iPhone when the host is at home connected with WireGuard? (or even OpenVPN)
  8. @trurl To be honest i don't know what fixed it but now at least i can stop the array without forcing a reboot. I did change a few things. i removed a nerdpack script i used to give it a try. it was on the cache drive so that might have been something there. also removed preclear plugin, also removed vmtools plugin, and also removed smb-extra. i will give it a try tomorrow but i need to get to bed right now. Thank you for helping!
  9. Even when the array is stopped the rootshare is listed in SMB. I found it somewhere.. but to be honest i don't remember why i did enable it. i will remove it now. Also i just removed preclear because i read here in the forums that it could be worth a try while troubleshooting and getting that error while trying to stop the array.
  10. When i try to stop the array it now tells me: Jan 29 23:35:49 unRAID emhttpd: Unmounting disks... Jan 29 23:35:49 unRAID emhttpd: shcmd (184025): umount /mnt/cache Jan 29 23:35:49 unRAID root: umount: /mnt/cache: target is busy. Jan 29 23:35:49 unRAID emhttpd: shcmd (184025): exit status: 32 Jan 29 23:35:49 unRAID emhttpd: Retry unmounting disk share(s)...
  11. I removed the first chapter of my post. Is this what you meant? All I meant was that the OS is the same install as the VM. It's just a direct boot without ESXi involved. But it is the very same usb thumb drive. So no reinstall or nothing.
  12. Sorry for being unclear. Just both as a VM and bare metal. the reason started within the VM and i went over to bare metal just to troubleshoot but the problem was just like when i ran it as a VM within ESXi7.0u1.
  13. Hi! I can boot my unRAID and it seems to have long access times on shares but still accessible. Random amount of time later, from a few minutes to about 30 minutes the shares lists but when I try to enter any of them I'm locked out. It just keeps spinning and searching. When I try to reboot unRAID it gets stuck at trying to force a shutdown but nothing happens after that. I have tried: 1. Memtest86 (30+ h) 2. Short SMART test on all drives. 3. Long SMART test on 3 drives (so far). 4. Scrub all drives. 5. Updated firmware on my HBA. (Supermicro LSI3008) 6. Two different clients. 7. Different network switch. 8. Checked firmware on SSD Cache. 9. tail -f /var/log/syslog but got nothing. Nothing showed when i get locked out. And A LOT more stuff but its been a few days. My unRAID server is a Supermicro x9SRL-F, E5-1650 v2, 16GB ECC system. And for the life of me I can't seem to find whats wrong with my OS. What else can i try?
  14. unRAID/ESXi related. DirectPath I/O vs SR-IOV for a HBA? I use DirectPath I/O but that might be why my speeds drop to 20-30MB/s for longer transfers(?)
